POP SHOVE-IT

This trick is one of the easier basic tricks to do, but it is hard when not done right. In this trick the board spins 180 degrees and the skater stays above the board not moving. Stance is different for back and frontside shove-its, but the stance is just opposite then the other. For the backside shove-it stance the back foot should be close to the toe edge with your toes on the edge, they don't have to be hanging off. The front foot should be in the middle of the board closer to the heel edge with your heel hanging off the back of the board. For the front side shove-it the backfoot is just opposite of the front side backfoot, it should be closer back to the heel edge, your heel should be hanging off. Your front foot should be in the middle of the board up by the toe edge, so your toes are hanging off./////////// Step 1: It's easier to do this trick when your moving, and you don't have to be going too fast. Get some pop, so slam your tail down but as your pushing down you want to be pushing your backfoot back or foward depending on if your doing front or backside shove-its. Of course your push your back foot foward for front side shove-its and back for back side. You want to push the back foot off in the center of the tail so the board doesn't spin. Your front foot doesn't do much./////////// Step 2: Stay above the board with your front foot directly over the top of the board, just suck your leg up. Your back foot should be pretty close to being above the board already./////////// Step 3: you want to catch the board with your front foot when it has finished it's 180 degree rotation. You stop the board with your front foot then put your back foot on the board. Land, absorb, and try not to fall. // When your learning this trick a lot of the times the board will go in front of you, so you have to kind of jump foward so you will land on the board. Once you get better you will be able to keep it under your. -written by Justine
