How many years have you been racing and is it hard to become a driver ?The Parks Racing Team has been in effect since 1992. Drivers are required to attend a rookie school prior to taking to the track for the first time. Skill is acquired with practice. The more a person drives on the track, the better he or she will understand the track conditions and how to adapt to them, thus helping them become a better driver. Back to TopWhat exactly is a micro sprint and where can I find a race ready car ?A micro sprint is an open wheel, open cockpit style race car. They run dirt bike motors and most run off of methanol alcohol. They can be purchased from any number of chassis builders or from drivers wishing to sell their equipment. Back to TopWho are your sponsors and how did you come about them ?For the 2002 racing season, our sponsors are 3D Fabrications, Penn Bowl, Sign Express, Shelley's Crafts & Ceramics, and Elizabeth Parks: Independent Candle Consultant.. We approach different businesses asking if they would be interested in sponsoring the team. Other teams send out letters soliciting sponsorship. We recommend putting together a team profile and asking for sponsorship in person. This provides the prospective sponsor to meet you and understand your sport better. Be prepared to have as much information as possible, as you want to impress your prospective sponsor into wanting him or her to put their name on your car. Back to TopWhat is the cost of racing a micro sprint ?Micro racing can become very expensive. You have to take into effect the cost of maintenance, fuel, and weekly registration. On a good night, racing can cost as little as your registration fees and fuel. You should always be prepared for everything (i.e: wrecking, tire issues, fouling a plug, piston issues, etc.) It is always good practice to carry a spare.
