-Don't show up empty handed
-Don't be late but you don't really want to be early, try to be as close as you

-Don't tell your friends where your going. Today is about the two of you, not
you and your friends
-Don't take her on a cheap date (i.e. fast food)
-Don't talk about any other girls on your date
-Don't check out any other girls on your date
-Don't burp, fart, chew with your mouth open, talk with your mouth full

touch
-Do make sure you plan your date ahead of time and make reservations if
necessary
-Do try and look good, dress nice and smell nice (no jeans, t-shirts, or hats)
-Do compliment her on how she looks, whether it's her hair, shoes, jewelry,
and/or something you normally don't compliment her on.
-Do bring her somewhere that has a special meaning to the two of you (i.e. first
kiss, where you first met, your first REAL date).
-Do tell her your favorite memories of the two of you
-Don't get jealous or upset if your guy glances at another
woman (just remember that he is with you and not with the other girls he may
glance at).
-Don't critice his look or where he takes you if it isn't perfect, be happy he
at least remembered to plan a date on Valentine's, besides, it's the thought
that counts
-Do look nice, just don't over do it.
-Do keep be happy to see him
-Do keep up a good conversation, silence will lead to awkwardness.
-Do be ready on time.
-Do try to have fun.
-Do compliment him on how he looks."
-Do pay at least the tip at dinner and maybe a little more (just think of all
the money that he is spending on you).
Of you're a little short on money, a home cooked candle-lit meal together is not only inexpensive and romantic, but it's a good way for the two of you to connect, bond, and have fun. Plus, it'll score you brownie points if your a good cook.
There are also you typical restaurants for dates: Olive Garden, Chili's, Friday's, etc. Buy if you are willing to spend a little more, Manny's, Murry's, and Morton's are top dollar places but completely worth it. If you're feeling a little fishy, Ocean Air is also a great place. Feeling like the Sopranos? Buca is a spectacular Italian restaurant.
You could always go with the typical flowers, candy, stuffed animal, and Hallmark cards. Or go with something more meaningful, like say, a picture of the two of you in an engraved frame. Be the Romeo or the Juilet you are and write a poem, make your own card, or serenade them with a song you wrote.
