The Great Vampire Killer!

Peter is fired from Fright Night, because people have lost interest in vampires and vampire-hunters and the ratings have fallen.
He is approached by teenager Charley Brewster, who asks his help in destoying a vampire that lives next door and is trying to kill him.
Peter dismisses the boy as insane, more involved in his own problems.

Peter at home...

Peter finds he is being evicted.
Unable to keep his bills paid, he is unsure of what will happen to him.

He is visted by Amy Peterson and Ed Thompson, girlfriend and friend of Charley Brewster.
They ask him to help them in proving that Charley's neighbor is not a vampire.
He declines, until Amy offers him her five hundred dollar savings bond.

He fakes a vampire test on Dandridge and pronounces him human...however, as he leaves he notices that Dandridge has no reflection in a mirror.
He flees, but not before Charley forces him to confess his discovery.

When Dandridge kidnaps Amy, Charley implores Peter to help save her, he refuses.
He is attacked by the recently vampirized Ed Thompson...but Peter drives the inexperienced night-creature away.

He soon changes his mind, faces his fears and arrives to help Charley at the Dandridge house.

Peter and Charley prepare to fight the forces of evil!

Peter stakes "Evil" Ed, then he and Charley destroy Dandridge's servant ghoul, Billy Cole and then Dandridge himself.
Amy is returned to normal and they are relieved that the nightmare is finally over.
The resulting publicity from his part in stopping the "Serial killer" Dandridge, gets Peter his job as host of Fright Night back.
