Revised BGC Concept --- 2004 Dec

Here are the main elements I am portraying in this animation:

1. Clean story: Audience should feel sympathy for Cynthia.

2. A seductive, AND unique look to the characters

3. Hard Suits should move naturally (despite would-be constraints of reality).

4. The massively dark, yet sublime cityscape

5. Compelling VFX, such as smoke, explosions, reflections, metals...

Notes on Storyboards

Since the look itself of this animation is quite important to me, as I draw storyboards I am trying to keep in mind an extremely clear image of what the finished shots are going to look like (including lighting and details).

Notes on Pacing

I establish Cynthia's role at the beginning, and again at the conflict/resolution. It is crucial that the audience is somewhat moved by these two scenes. Everything else is still important, but secondary to Cynthia's scenes.

Although there are 2 plot threads at the beginning (cynthia, and the Knight Sabers), they become merged within the first 40 seconds.

The pacing of the action is timed with the rhythm of the music.
