| Most of Brian's past is not known as he is a
newcomer to Los Angeles and the street racing scene. The first time he
drove, he was in a car with his mother and a car crashed into the back of
him causing a five car pile-up. The only person that knows his secret,
he is an undercover cop, is his employer at the Racers Edge, Harry.
Harry cannot tell anybody, however, because he will get 5-10 years in prison
for receiving stolen goods. He always goes to Toretto's diner on his
meal break and orders a tuna sandwich as his pretence for always showing up
as he fancies the employee, Mia Toretto. He sees Dom, leader of an
illegal street racing team and wants to try and get into the team to find
out who the hijackers of electronic goods are. From the very start, he
is in a feud with one of the team members, Vince because Vince is also
interested in Mia. He gets into the team members, Dom, Letty, Leon and
Jesse, with the exception of Vince and starts to become attached to them,
forcing him to choose between his new "family" and his job.
Although Vince has distrusted Brian all the way through the film and wanted
to kill him at one time, Brian had to take a chance and confess who he is to
save Vince's life. Yes he
chooses his "family", giving Dom the keys to his Toyota Supra and letting
him escape to Mexico. This then means that he has lost his love interest and also his job, making him to run from the cops and leave his badge behind. The cops raid his house and give pictures of him out to all of the police agents, but by this time he has gone and is travelling South East towards Florida, winning street races and lots of cash as he travels.
