Attention! This site is now up mainly for "archival" purposes. For continued updates on Walt, visit here.
Hello there, and welcome to my Walton Goggins site -- the first of its kind! Maybe you became aware of Walt while watching him play 'Shane Vendrell' in "The Shield", or perhaps you knew of his presence before then. I myself became a fan after seeing him in Robert Duvall's The Apostle, back in 1999. After I saw that amazing film, I got my hands on as many of Walt's movies as I could find, before I ... ran out of things to watch. Or so I thought! But in early 2002, Walt began to appear everywhere -- "The Shield", Beyond the Prairie, and even the Academy Awards. And I developed a renewed interest in this actor's intensity, diversity, and unique Southern appeal. Now I can't think of any actor I enjoy watching more. I decided it was definitely time Walton had one of those tribute pages. So, here it is!
The page will never be 100% complete -- there will always be things I want to add -- but I do hope you enjoy what's below. Please email with any comments, questions, put-downs, suggestions, etc...email is nice.
Updates!
So what is Walt up to right now? The answer is, many things! As always, Walton is a busy man these days. Season 6 of "The Shield" premiered on April 3, 2007; and fortunately for us fans, it's been a VERY Shane-centric season! To see Walton bring Shane's extreme guilt (and other emotions) to screen has been a thing to behold. Simply put, the man is an awesome talent! I only wish the season were longer -- but there will be one more season, which is set to premiere in 2008 (I'm both anticipating and dreading the final season; what will television be like without "The Shield"??) Speaking of television, Walton also recently appeared on an episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." If, like me, you missed the episode, you may be able to find it on the "CSI" website (click on "Video"; his episode is called Empty Eyes).
Finally, if you're a Walton fan, you probably know of his production company, Ginny Mule Pictures. (If not, you can find out more within this site.) Their second full-length film is called Randy and the Mob; it was completed in 2006. Ray McKinnon, Lisa Blount, Burt Reynolds and Walton all star in this rather entertaining-sounding movie. Walt plays an Italian mobster/gourmet cook named Tino. Sounds pretty far from Shane -- needless to say, I really can't wait for this one! As of May 2007, it looks like it's still playing the film-festival circuit. Hopefully we'll see an official release SOON!
If you're absolutely dying to catch Walt onscreen now, there are plenty of opportunities to see him on DVD. Both The Architect and The World's Fastest Indian should now be available in stores; and of course, Season 5 of "The Shield" is available as of March 2007. There are some great behind-the-scenes features with lots of Walt scenes, so make sure to buy the set! If money isn't an issue, buy it right now and help support the show and its makers and FX. But if you're destitute like me and can't afford it, try what I did for seasons 2-4 (it worked three years in a row) -- gather up some old CDs and exchange them at FYE or some place like that... I walked in there with 15 CDs I didn't want, and walked out with a brand-new box set. It feels good to do this! Then share it with all your less-poor friends so they can buy DVD sets. Spread the word about the greatest show on television today. (For the record, I received Season 5 as a birthday present, so I didn't have to exchange any CD's.:>) More updates coming soon...
WALTON CONTACTED ME!! He's contacted me in the past ... but not like this! On November 10, 2006 (Walton's 35th birthday!) I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Not even a month later, Walt received word of my diagnosis and called me to wish me well. He called me several other times -- he sent flowers! -- AND he's checked in via email a couple of times to see how I'm doing. You can find out more about my encounter(s) in the "About Walt" link. Each day I heard from Walton, it MADE my day; it's truly refreshing to see such genuine kindness from a Hollywood actor (when you hear so many stories pointing to the opposite!). Because I can't say it enough -- Walton is awesome! Mackey will kill you if you don't sign my guestbook!
