Andy is a self taught vocalist and has
been playing
the St.Pete/Tampa area for many years.
His voice
has been described as a deep baritone
with great
range, comparisons have been made to Jim
Morrison(we
don't see it), Scott Weiland and Danzig.
Andy's
stage performance is one you will not
easily forget!
He is a borderline actrobat, he performs
stage diving,
and he does a fish out of water dance that stuns
everyone!
Ron Whalen --
Lead
Guitar
Birthdate: April
15th
1971--Aries
Birthplace: St.
Petersburg, FL
Instrument of
Choice:
Mid 70's Ovation Hard
Body Electric (no not the electric
acoustic!)
Ron is a self taught guitarist who has
been playing
for several years. He originally formed
the band
with
frontman Andy about 4 years ago. Ron's
guitar
styling
is simplistic but very emotional, he
does not use
blinding solos but the right amount of
feedback and
noise solos that make the Chalkpeople
sound so damn
thick. His style has been compared to
that of Paige
Hamilton and Kurt Cobain.
J Schultz --
Bass
Birthdate: April
9th
1978--Aries
Birthplace: St.
Petersburg,
FL
Instruments of
Choice:
Musicman Stingray 5, Chapman
Stick
J is also self taught and has been
playing the
St.Pete/Tampa area for several years. J
is a funk
based player rooted in the sounds of
King Crimson,
311, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Peter
Gabriel(to just
name a few). J's
bass lines are intricate and groovy. J
always seems
to be the innovater of the band with his
new toys. He
is destined
to be a big winner.
Bryce Munger --
Drums,
Backup Vocals
Birthdate:
September 5th 1978--Virgo
Birthplace:
Stuttgert, Germany
Instrument of
Choice:
Pearl 5 piece, Shure SM57.
Bryce is also self taught (wow all of
us) and has
been
playing the St.Pete/Tampa area for
several years.
Bryce's
drumming has been described as "holy
shit man!" and
"brother you da man!". Bryce's biggest
influcences
are Tool, Swing bands of the 20's and of
course the
big Neil. Being the backbone of a band
like
Chalkpeople is something he has wanted
his whole
life. His playing is unique, emotional
and has
completed the band we like to call "Chalkpeople".
