Under no circumstance were the Cardinals to beat Atlanta, and so for the first time in a generation, the Falcons won in Arizona. For the record, the Cardinals' last win in Atlanta was at the end of the 1993 season. So next time you read some horrible stat about the team's futility, keep in mind that a good portion of that comes as a product from all those losses you cheered for. - - - - - I have never played organized sports in my life, but I do always hear about how injuries happen more frequently when a player is not going at full speed. I have no idea if that is true, but with those defensive players getting carted off the field, and several being lost for NEXT year, it does make one wonder if speed and motivation played a role. NEXT WEEK, @ CINCINNATI BENGALS: I don't often cancel road trips, even when the team is sitting with three wins late in December. However, this Cincinnati game comes during a week where it would have created significant hardship to travel and so it was always listed as a "maybe" on my schedule. Watching the team's effort, however, ultimately made the decision less difficult for me. See you in 2026. No prediction this week. Although the baseball team stopped using the march several years later, the fight song can still be heard at all home football games for the now Arizona Cardinals. The music and words were composed by songwriters Irving Bibo (1889-1962) and Larry Kent.
