I can remember back when I was 11 or 12 asking my mother about our family (even before Roots by Alex Haley came out). She pulled out many many old family pictures, some identified some not. My desire to know my family was so strong, that along with the help of my mother and Aunt Hilda, we pulled together a mini family reunion August 12, 1978 on Staten Island. Over the past 22 years, off and on to varying degrees, I have researched the Johnson lineage. Although I haven't gotten nearly as much information as I like, hopefully you will find it interesting to know where we came from.
