 [l a t e s t-a l b u m]: Is Missing
 ----
 [b i o g r a p h y]:
Phantom Planet is an unbelievably talented band from the Los Angeles area. There are five members ranging from the ages 19 to 21. The members are Darren Robinson(guitar), Sam Farrar(bass), Jacques Brautbar(guitar), Alex Greenwald(lead vocals/guitar), and Jason Schwartzman(drums). A recent success of the band has came forth because of drummer, Jason Schwartzman's starring role as "Max Fisher" in the indie hit Rushmore. Phantom Planet has a very catchy sound with lyrics of heartbreak and loneliness, all of those things that trouble young adults.
Their debut album, Is Missing, has went gold. An amazing achievement considering the amount of publicity from their old record label. The first single is among other artist such as mb20, the goo goo dolls and 3eb in the top 40 requests at local LA radio stations. Phantom Planet was on Geffen Records, but due to the status of the label, they have since been signed to Interscope Records and are in the process of recording a new album, which will achieve more publicity with a video.

i thought that i was better off
i was wrong
i am where i don't belong
in a flash i am gone
to return when the sun shines again - i was better off

i'm lying in your bed
unscrewing your head
trying to figure out what's wrong
inside, so you don't hate yourself tonight - local black and red

this is the brightest sunlight, my shade will do me no good - vampires in love

this is a totally kick butt band. I encourage everyone to go check them out. They put on the best live shows. They keep you going the whole time with their pic tricks, the jumps and the occasional Jayce roll, the licks, and there is always Mitch in the back as cute as can be. Shades Apart is great too! they are touring with Marvelous3 on all the dates above from what I know. They also put on a great show. Their website is www.shadesaparthq.com.

 [l a t e s t-a l b u m]: Hey! Album (1999)
 ----
 [b i o g r a p h y]: Just who is this Wonderful group of Guys?
Slug, Butch, and Jayce. Oh, more than that?
Once upon a time in Georgia, Butch Walker, Jayce Fincher and Mitch "Slug" McLee
began banging away at a music career that unbeknownst to them would capture the hearts of many many fans years later.
These three guys have been playing together for many years now, since their early teens. Some of their previous bands includes a hair metal band, Southgang
(circa 1991); a non-hair metal band, Floyd's Funk Revival, which I am assuming
that it turned into the Floyd's (circa 1996),
Finally, (I hope) finding a lasting sound in Marvelous 3. Which is where we are now, in case you haven't noticed! With the awesome vocals, guitar and words, by Butch Walker, the bass by Jayce Fincher and slammin' drums by Slug, these boys have earned Atlanta's Hardest Working Band and Favorite Rock Band (1998).
Their live show is an art form the way it captivates the audience and wins them new fans in every city they travel. The Marvies have won over fans from their tours with Eve6 and Collective Soul and now with the Hard Rock Rockfest tour with Smashmouth... Let's hope they are ready for a large headlining tour sometime soon!!! And live happily ever after.

you traded all your tears so i could see a happy face
you sat alone and read the writing on the wall
you broke your heart and banged your cool up as you fell from grace
you should've hung the net before you took the fall - until you see

can you make me a promise
stop it before we begin
will you hold onto my head
if i ever lose it again - freak of the week

Webpage of the Issue
title:The Second Shelf
rating: **** 4 stars(on a 1-5 scale-5 being the best)

The Second Shelf is a page mostly for matchbox 20 Fan Fiction. I think it's a great idea. It has it's own mailing list and is updated often. Near the bottom of the page are all the essentials about our guys. The site is unique (in it's idea) and very professional. Anna and Kristi have their own original story that has many parts. There are many more to read some of which are really great! This site and all the stories are definitely worth a look see.
