Lucero-Mundo is the Congo equivalent to Eleggua or Echu. He is not the same, since the fundamento of Palo that corresponds to Eleggua is properly Nkuo. Lucero-Mundo is more than Nkuo because he is a Prenda with all the powers of such. Above you see a picture of Lucero-Mundo. Lucero is the Spanish word for bright star and Mundo, of course, means world. So Lucero-Mundo means bright star of the world or better stated, Light of the World. Nkuo is the Eleggua that is made of cement that represents Eleggua in Regla de Palo, or the different Congo rites. We include Lucero-Mundo here to show the pervasiveness of the energy that Eleggua and Echu represents in all traditions of African Spirituality.
