Plant has long, thin,
narrowly sharp-pointed leaves, 40-50 cm long, on top of the secondary
stems, 20-22 cm high. Four or five sheaths clothe the stems tightly. |
Growing |
Main habitat in the state
of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Like other brassavolas, this species
thrive in well drain mix, or mounted, with warm to intermediate
conditions. |
Blooming Season |
My plant bloomed in late
November - December. |
Flower size and shape |
The sepals and pedals
are about 3.5-4 cm long. Lip is 2.2-2.3 cm wide and 3 cm long. |
Colors and fragrance |
The sepals and pedals
are green. Lip is white with emerald to yellow at the throat.
Sweet fragrance at night. |
Comments |
Have similar characteristics
of B. fragrans, some thoughts that they are the same species.
The one I photographed below matched the description of the species
well. |
