Today I lost a great co-worker and a friend. Nick Adams, known to many as A-Train passed away last night after a terrible car accident. He was a great person and the inspiration for many of my crazy column ideas. We became aquainted with each other at DTA Wrestling. He did news and rumors and I was the "new guy" columnist. After my first post I got a nice welcome message from him. I wish I would have saved it. Nick was a talented writer and worked on many sites doing news. I was always trying to get him to write a column. Last month he asked if I wanted help running my site. I was always apprehensive at hiring someone to help run my site, my "baby" as I jokingly called it. Nick was the right person for the job. We grew very close as friends recently. When you are involved in this business you are rarely afforded the chance to get personal with people. Let's face it, for those who know, running a site is about as cutthroat as you get. Nick was one person that I did get to know personally. I will miss my friend Nick dearly. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his parents and 4 brothers. Nick if you can read this somehow, you were a great friend and I will miss you. The following is just a bit of a tribute to a great person that deserves more than any words that I could ever write...
5..4..3..2..1.. OK I've been doing this report thing for awhile now, and I have gotten a total for 0 emails regarding anything. No Folks i don'y ask you for much, i mean just a line or two would be great, i will answer any question you have. I passed up the Big bucks at other sites to work here for the greatest boss and to write to the greatest fans. I didn't sell out like most guys, so throw be a frickin' bone, an email, a sentence, a line, death threat, whatever. Enough ######in' on my part, Hit MY damn music and Lets get on with what i like to call the Big Ass Update.....
-Even though popular thought is that Bret Hart is holding out on WCW, he actually is waiting until he becomes 100% after concussions he suffered.
-Trish Stratus will not be debutting at Raw is war when it hits the Skydome this Monday. She told sources he will be debuting in a few weeks.
-Konnan should be returning to the WCW on April 1st. Yes you heard me right the former Wolf-Pac thug didn't have the balls to make the move over to the WWF.
-The WWF has no interest in signing old, power hungry athletes like Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. So don't look for them to show up in Titan Land.
-Appentaly Kathy Dingman, known to puppylovers as B.B., has been released by the WWF. Probably since they never used her.
-Whatever happened to Test?
-WCW plans on starting up their good vs. bad angles that worked like charm over a decade ago. Hey might as well its not like anything is going to help them in the ratings.
-The Big Slow has been having back spasms as of late. And on a side note if the main event is Big Show vs. HHH at Wrestlemania 2K i think i'm going to vomit.
-Thats all, i just realized me intro is longer than my report. My email address is CNicks7@aol.com and You aol folk can send me an instant message at CNick7, i'd be glad to talk.
Hello wrestling fans and welcome to Robb is War. Now usually at this time I have some witty commentary or some heavy duty bashing to do. Not this week. In my life I have experienced a lot of loss. My own brother lost his life in a car accident when I was 11 years old. Just this last week I lost my Great Aunt Eva at the age of 96. Now I know this is not a column that I usually interject personal aspects of my life beyond trying to “get over” with you fans, but Saturday I recieved some shocking and saddening news. I had recently hired a co-webmaster for my site by the name of A-Train. Now many of you knew him from his news and rumors reports on many sites including DTA wrestling, where we first became acquainted. Nick or A-Train is a great guy and he knew I was always apprehensive about letting anyone co-webmaster my “baby” (my site), but he was perfect for the site. Although I have never met Nick I consider him a friend and ally. I was told by my old webmaster Vagus the other day that Nick was involved in a life-threatening car accident this past week. Now I have not yet recieved all of the information about it but I have been told that it is very serious and that he is in bad shape. Now this is where I ask you to pray for my friend and colleague. I don’t care if you hate my guts and everything I stand for but please if you wish to send him mail. You can send mail for him to me and I’ll do my best to get it to him. My e-mail address is JubeiViper@aol.com. I know I have run angles before and tried to trick you guys but this is seriously not an angle. Please let’s show Nick how much he is appreciated.
I just recieved an e-mail from a friend of Nick’s. It is now 3:45 AM here in Miami. I am sorry to take you away from the topic but my worst suspicions were true. Nick was in an accident and it is very sad to report but his chances to make it are slim. If he does pull through he may be paralyzed from the waist down. I will try to keep you updated, but I can’t and won’t write any more today. I am so sorry. Umm, please pray for my friend and his family. You know sometimes in life you take people for granted that they will always be there and then something like this happens and puts you in perspective. This column, this whole idea behind being a bad ass columnist is so universally unimportant. Friends are what is important, friends and family. The people you love are what is important. Nick is important to me. Please pray for him. I’ll be praying for you Nick. Get well. Please be okay. I am sorry to everyone else, this is over.
5...4...3...2...1... Hey Yo, Its The Myth, The Legend, Its Me, The A-Train, the newly aquired newsboard reporter. You may remember me in previous stints like DTAWrestling.com's Wednesday News and Rumors Guy, or from my current position at SOBWrestling.com where I am the author of my weekly column "Train Tracks". I like you to know I'm not a reporter that tries to get attention by doing a John Rocker impression to get noticed. Ah Ah that ain't me I speak my mind an althouth scary at times thats me. So Hit My Damn music at heres a few things on the WWF and WCW....
-On January 30, 2000 The Rock's New bio, "The Rock Says" will be number one on the New York Times bestsellers. It will surpass Mick Foley's "Have a Nice day" which will be at number 3. In related news, Hulk Hogan's classic book "Steriods is 4 Me" was taken off the shelves.
-The 29th and 30th members of the Royal Rumble have been announced. Mark Henry is 29 and Rodney of the Mean Street Posse will be the 30th.
-Kurt Angle will be fighting a mystery oppenent at Royal Rumble. Who will this mystery man be? Popular guess is that it will be Tazz. And thats who the top internet men are going with so that will be my final answer. However, more names have been thrown aroung like Undertaker, Shane McMahon, and even HHH himself.
-Yes you guys have heard all the crap about the Vince Russo being knocked out of his booking role, in the worst decison in wrestling since the Master P signing, and you guys know how Benoit, Malenko, Saturn, and other have asked for their releases. Well Ric Flair has said he'd be more in favor to return under Kevin Sullivan than Vince Russo. Of course the reason or this is that Russo likes the younger guys while Sullivan likes the oldies.
-Speaking of that, Some reporters at other, bigger sites have reported that Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas, and Chris Benoit have been released from WCW. This is False!! They were sent home either before Nitro or after Souled Out to cool off. Once again THIS RUMOR IS FALSE!!! I hate guys who spread false things around the net.
Ok thats it thats the end. Please send any comments, questions, or anything thats on your mind to CNicks7@aol.com because i work here to hear from you, the fans. So put the fingers to the keyboard then sent some frickin' feedback. Thanks A-Train
Today, I was informed of the unfortunate passing of "A-Train" Nick Adams. I want all of the family and friends of Nick to know that I am truly sorry. This is a tragic situation.
Unfortunately life is not like wrestling. In wrestling a storyline can be written and totally scrapped later. I wish I could just wave a magic wand and say this didn't happen. But, I can't.
However, I can (and I hope everyone reading this will) keep the memory of Nick alive in their hearts.

"I'll admit that I didn't know Nick that well. He's one of the few people that I never actually spoke to over the internet but had heard of highly in a good way. Nick was one of those people who was on several web-sites posting his usual thoughts and comments. I know Nick was highly thought of, his columns were always of great quality.
I was truly saddened to hear he died after his accident. I'm not really good at these things so all I can say is that my thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
Goodbye, you'll be missed."

Webmaster of Scotland's WWF Site
Sorry to hear about that... On behalf of the TPWW.net staff, we send our heart felt condolences to Nick's family and friends at this time.

I don't know what to say. This is a tragic event indeed. I don't remember him, but I can see that he had to mean a you. Losing a close friend is always difficult, especially in such a tragic and devestating way as what happened yesterday... Again, my prayers go out to you, your family and his family.
Destroyah...
Right now, I am still in huge shock over the loss of a great online friend of mine. Nick Adams (better known to all of you as The A-Train) passed away earlier today after being involved in a fatal car accident yesturday. Nick and I were probably one of the best online friends ever and I can tell you that though I never met him face to face, his death does affect me in a very personal way. The A-Train and I have been online friends since June of 1999. It all started when I went to his old website for the very first time (this was a site with no HTML, all basic editor). I e-mailed him some wrestling questions and he answered them through the IM. He referred me to his only visitor and he later got me started on building my own site. After a while with no success, him and I merged out sites and we made Wrestle Fire. This site started in July I believe and had a pretty good run until October. Nick and I updated the news and rumors everyday. When school started again in August, Nick got into soccer and I basically did all the work on Wrestle Fire then. In October, I moved to DTA and immediately closed down this site. I later brought Nick to DTA where he helped out on the newsboard and wrote his Wednesday's news and rumor reports. A few weeks ago, there was a huge misunderstanding and Nick and I did not speak to each other for quite a while. Just last weekend he instant messaged me and started talking to me again, but I think he did not like me as he once did. But Nick is gone now, and anyone that knew him online and personally all have got to live with this. This actually hurts right now and I am still in shock. Nick, you were one nice guy that wanted to be on a site that was big and you wanted to be noticed. Well my friend, you are getting your recognition throughout the net thanks to the Robb. It is just sad that it had to come like this. To Kyle amd Amber. Thanks for talking to me and I pray for you and the entire Adam's family that you will get through this and move on. Thanks for the memories Nick. I will never forget you. You were a first class character and you will never be forgotten.
Martin Hawrysko
I didn't know Nick well, actually I didn't know him at all, he was coming into DTA when I was leaving but from what I've seen and heard about him he was a nice guy, great person, and it's a shame he had to go so young and he so much more ahead to look forward to. Our condolences to his family from me and the rest of the staff of 5 Star.

To Nick,
A-Train, you will be sorely missed. Although I never had the chance to work with you personally, I have read your columns and posts at Robb's site, and I could tell you always made sure to put out your best effort, which is seemingly becoming all too rare in this era of copy-and-paste artists and such. I will always remember you and keep you in my heart Nick...Good-bye.
Steve Jumps
I didn't know Nick personally, just heard so many great things about him from his colleagues. His life was cut short by a tragic event, he had so much to look forward to. Lets all say a prayer tonight before we go to bed for Nick. On behalf of the staff of Wrestling Online, I would like to tell Nick that you're in our hearts and may god rest your soul.

I am very saddened to hear about the death of your friend, Nick Adams. Although I did not know him personally or in the "online" sense, I do vaguely remember some of his work at DTA Wrestling. On behalf of my site and staff, I express my deepest sympathies to Nick's family and friends. It's a testament to his character that he has so many online friends, who although probably never have met him, care so much about him.

I went to check my e-mail today and I got an e-mail from Robb. It was about his freind Nick and how he had lost him in an accident. Well I never talked to him in person or in any other way. But I still want to write this. I would like this to go out to all of his family members and his friends. Nick will always be within your hearts, he will always stay with you forever and ever. Even though I never met him he probably was a nice person to be around. Nick had so many years in front of him. He probably had a great future lined up for him. Then this comes up and he passes away. An inocent 16 year old. Thats why I give my thoughts to his family and freinds. Remember that Nick is always truly in your heart forever. R.I.P. Nick Adams.

I never really talked to Nick. I read many of his reports and truly new he was one of the best writers. When I found out about this tragedy, I know it must be hard for his family to cope with this accident, all my wishes go to the Adams Family. RIP Nick "A-Train" Adams

Sorry to hear about the sad news man ! I bet Nick was a really cool guy and obviously he meant a lot to you ! Even though it's a sad news just say to yourself that he'll be in a better place ! He'll even get the chance to meet Owen Hart !
Sincerely,

Hi Robb, Just thought I'd drop u my condolences as I know exactly what you are going through. I lost a one of my best mates 3 weeks ago in a car accident he was only 19. We have all just got through the funeral and keep visiting his parents on a regular basis for support. It is going to be a very hard time for you. I didn't actually get to read any of his articles until just now (as I mainly read Jimmy Van) but they are very good. It is such a shame when such a young life is wasted in such horrible circumstances. My thoughts go out to you and his family.
Regards

Hey Robb I have worked with Nick at DTA and Wrestlefire, I knew him by word, but we werent great friends. I think that is a shame that someone like Nick had to pass on so quick in our lives. He had great talent as a writer and as a friend. I am planning to do a tribute Newsletter to Nick, whoever wants to write a memory in it please email me at Mcjc721@Aol.com Nick I may of only knew you a little, but I miss you friend, I miss you.

Nick was a great guy, i worked with him at his orginal site. No not Wrestle Fire the early site before Vagus or Martin whatever he calls himself now came along. This Tribute page is a crock of shit. Big Ry? Mtfns? They don't know Nick. They are doing this to just be nice, and to get hits to their site. Half these so-called admirers of Nick didn't give him a job, they said he would never make it anywhere. But to you people were wrong he did. Too Bad it happened this way. This guy died his life is over. His dream was to be noticed as a great reporter. But all you elite sites didn't make it happen. He wanted to be an elite webmaster and answer every piece of mail and help out small guys that are coming up unlike you. He didn't wanted to be bitches like you are to all us fans. You guys think your so cool, but your not. You guys are cyberstuds. Nick had a life outside this internet world. He was recruited by the U of Michigan to play soccer. As a soph thats a huge achievement. But you guys woldn't know that. You guys probably don't know his real name before you read it at the top of the page or his alias name for that matter. So what i ask you big guys to do if you really want to show your remorse, adopt a small site and help them get over in Nick's name. I call it the Adam's project. No i don't have a small site but i would like some of you guys to be more sincere and show that this guy really made a difference. Thats my tribute and I'm stickin' to it and if you don't like it I'll stick it somewhere else.

Goodbye Nick....

I never had the oppurtunity to work with Nick or to get to know him. But I did read some of his work on the Robb's Wrestling Site and he did great. He seemed to be a wonderful hardworking person that recieved a fate much too early for him. From me personally, I wish the Nick Adams would rest peacefully and feel good knowing that he touched so many people here in this world.

I never knew Nick personally, but I remember his news on DTA. I was deeply saddened to hear this news. As soon as I found out I made an announcement on my site. I would like to send my prayers and support out to all of Nick's Internet friends out there, not to mention his family and personal friends.
From Wrestling-Unlimited (WCWWWF.com) and myself we would like to send our thoughts out.

I have been a pro-wrestling fan longer than I have ever been a webmaster. No other reporter on the web I could recall was like A-Train (Nick Adams). He always knew how to report wrestling news how the fans wanted it. I first saw his work on DTA Wrestling. Now to hear that he has passed on deeply saddens me and my co-workers. On behalf of PWR Global our prayers go out to Nick's friends, family, and co-workers. He will be missed by many very deeply.
