First, I hope all of our residents have a safe trip back home and that we all spend the summer in good health and prosperity. Thanks to all for your support of Association Events that were held this past winter and spring. And thank you to those who have showed their confidence in your Board of Directors by paying your dues for 2002
I want to thank everyone who helped out with the different events that were held. Those who cooked breakfast, lunch and our dinners. Those who signed up to do coffee. Those that worked behind the scenes to make our events successfull. And lets not forget those that purchased the tickets and made them a success with their attendance.

Please attend our May 6th Meeting. We will be discussing the boards interest in getting some electrical work done at the hall. After talking with several electricians, including Mr. Overman, one of our members. It has come to our attention that we will not have to upgrade from our present 200 amp service. There are several issues which need to be addressed though which will be discussed at the meeting.
We will also be discussing the centralized trash disposal area and what is being done to address the problems that this site has been plagued with. You need to be there if you are in Lanark Village.
The Mini-Mall on Oak Street has been sold and the new owner will be at the May meeting to get your imput on what you would like to see done at the mini-mall... Plans include Laudromat, Restaurant, and maybe a small grocery store. The beauty shop and Thrift Shop will remain.
My goals this year was for a united community that works together for the good of all. And I feel like this goal has been met. I also have the goal of 300 members by the end of the year. Right now we have 266 members. Please remember to renew your membership for 2002 if you have not already done so. They can be paid at the hall during coffee hour or at the Meeting on Monday, May 6th or by mailing your $10 to P. O. Box 1313, Lanark Village, FL 32323
Even though the majority of the members and residents have left for the summer, we still plan to have several events during the summer for us year arounders. One being the pancake and waffles during coffee hour, on the second Wednesday of each month. (I am switching to Wednesday, so those that ride the bus shopping on Tuesdays, can have a leisurely breakfast).
I would like to see Chillas Hall used more. It was the dream of Henry Chillas to make our Hall available to the community. And that is what I want to do.
