This is the story of a young man who joins the U.S.Navy and travels the pacific ocean.

During his 4 years in the navy,( all spent on navy destroyers )he spent a total of 27 months in Japan, Korea, Formosa and Hong Kong. He enlisted in a peacetime navy, but found himself right in the middle of a war.

His ports of call were;Honolulu,HI. Kona,HI.The island of Guam,Wake Island,Yokosuka and Sasebo in Japan,Inchon,Korea,Taipei and Kelung in Formosa (now called Taiwan). Hong Kong. San Diego,Long Beach and San Francisco in California. Panama Canal Zone, Coco Solo,Panama. San Juan, Puerto Rico. Newport RI. Boston,MA.Philadelphia,PA. and Eastport,ME.

In addition to those ports, his travels also took him to;Fresno, Oakland, Hollywood and Los Angeles in California,Tia Juana, Mexico, Fall River,MA. Shiga Heights Ski Resort in Japan, also Tokyo and Yokohama,Japan and Seoul,Korea.

The young man is now nearing 75 years old and looks fondly back on his
" tincan " service.
