"Hello,"she greeted the man on her doorstep. James stood there with a law officer.
"Ma'am we are here to take your daughter and put her in James's custody. We have reason to believe you are an unfit mother," the police officer said. Emily begged and pleaded with him not to take her. James grabbed Kaitlyn and some of her things leaving Emily crying in the hall. She picked up the phone and called the one man who could help...JC.
"JC, they took her,"she sobbed as she told him the whole story. JC took time off of the tour to come back and help fight the law system for his...well his daughter. They went to the best lawyer in town.
"Well, Emily, who do you think will be the most suitable parent?" Mrs. Kinsington, the lawer, asked the young girl. Emily folded her hands in her lap and sat up to begin to tell her.
"I think I am b/c I don't hit my children," Emily said with tears in her eyes. JC put an arm around her shoulder and pulled her close to him.
"Well, James, has a stable home he is married adn Mrs. Dawson, you are not, so there Kaitlyn has both a mother and a father,"The lady explained.
"Yeah but she is fixing to be,"JC spoke up. They both looked at him questionably. "We are engaged to be married next Saturday,"JC explained he knew what he had to do. Emily's grasp on his hand begin to shake.
"Well, this changes everything..We can win this case yet,"Mrs. Kinsington explained. After talking for hours, JC and Emily got up to leave each feeling better about the sittation.
"Why did you tell her that, JC" Emily asked him as soon as they got in the car. JC put the car in park and looked down. His eyes flickering in the sunlight.
"B/c ever since you walked into my life I have felt something for you and I lost one daughter I am not about to lose another,"JC told her with the most passion he had ever said anything in his life with. Emily begin to cry as she layed her head in his lap and he begin the drive home fingers intertwined with one anothers. they walked through the door of their home and saw Justin with his head in his hands sitting on the couch.
"What's wrong, Bubba, "Emily asked him sitting beside him and wrapping an arm around his broad shoulders. HE looked at her with warm tears in his eyes.
"I...I....I...lost something precious to me,"Justin gulped. "I lost Kaitlyn then Nikki now what do I do,"Justin begin to cry. "Nikki, never knew how much I loved her,"Justin had never gotten like this over anything. He began to tell Emily of how when he was small his mother had a daughter named Kaitlyn who died during birth and then explained how he thought he had a second chance with her Kaitlyn and he wanted to be a big brother to her. Emily hugged the man in her arms as he cried. He cried for the loss he cried for his own heart he even cried for his friend's hearts. She had never seen him cry so much in her life and it scared her. To see him like this made her insides die with hurt.
"Emily,"was all he could say as he as he fell asleep on her shoulder. SHe carefully got up and walked to her room. Laying in her own bed she seemed like she was nothing and helpless.
The next morning she woke up to find JC staring at her startling her she sat up quickly hitting him in the head. They both rubbed there sore spots and looked into one anothers eyes. The house seemed empty with out little girl's laughter and the pitter patter of little feet all through the house. The guys had been calling all week Emily knew JC had to go back soon. He hadn't missed any concerts just an interview but that was it.
"Well, you sure know how to get a man's head hurting,"JC joked.They each got up and put some clothes on."Emily...I think I am going to have to take a few weeks off of the tour...."JC started to tell her.
"Jc, you can't do that I will be fine. You have a responsibility to the guys and your fans not too me,"she told him not looking into the eyes she first fell in love looking into. HE tryed to talk but she put her hand up knowing she would give in and let him stay. He took her hand and tryed to pull her close she pushed away tears flowing freely down her already tear stained face.
"Emily, Kait is like my daughter too though. There are some things in the world you can't face alone and we have a wedding to plan,"he told her. JC got up as if too leave but pulled her with him. The hardest thing was going to be to plan a wedding in under a week. They went to the mall to pick a dress and some bridesmaids dresses and best men tuxedos.
"Is this going to work,"Emily asked JC with tears in her eyes as she filled out the invitations. JC looked into her eyes and cupped her cheek in his hands. He pulled his face near hers and Emily braced herself for the kiss that was sure to follow. All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door. Sighing JC got up to answer it. Justin shuffled in followed by the other three guys.
"Hey, Emily, Chris wanted to ask you a question,"Justin said smiling with his bright blue eyes. Chris looked down and in the most serious voice he could muster asked.
"Can I be your maid of honor??"That was all it took to send him and everyone else in a fit of giggles. JC smiled and shook his head no. "OH DARN well maybe at Justin's wedding I can be the ring berrer,"Chris said pretending to get teary eyed.
"Chris, you can be the ring berrer,"Emily told him. Chris looked like he didn't know what to say all he knew was that he was going to look like an idiot.
"Umm....I really...ummm no,"he said. Emily gave him a hurt look and Chris could take no more so he stood up and shouted. "YES okay I will be the damn ring berrer are u happy!"
"Yes very,"she smiled.
*~*~*~The Wedding*~*~*~
"I can't believe I pulled this off,"JC smirked at his reflection in the mirror. He straigtened his hair, tie, and clothes. In just under an hour he was going to marry the woman of his dreams but the odd thing was they would share their first kiss on this day too.
"JC, you know what is the funny thing,"Justin asked. JC looked up in interest. "A year ago today was the day you met her,"the young man smiled as JC began to realize what he had just said. JC soon took his place at the head of the church and waited for his bride. First came the flower...boy, Joey threw flower petals up and down the aile somehow managing to get them on the people in the pews too. Then came Chris on his knees holding a ring attached to a small pillow. After the bridesmaids walked down the ailse then came Emily. Dresses in a simple babyblue gown her hair tied in flowers and a long flowing veil over her face. Soon arms linked, JC and Emily walked up to the preacher. JC picked the veil up off of Emily's face and the preacher began to ask them the questions that required and 'I do' both of them said that.
"Now you may kiss the bride," and JC stared into the same eyes he fell for exactly a year ago as he placed his soft lips to hers. Each going weak in the knees from the small peck. Everyone in the audience stood up and cheered.

The newly married couple took a slow walk on the beach watching the waves rush over there barefooted feet. JC looked into the woman who seemed as if with one whisper made his world stop and wait for her next words and pushed his lips to hers in a kiss the two had never shared so deep with one another. Emily fell into his arms and layed her head on his chest softly. The nexy day there would be a courtday all of this was rushing so fast. All Emily knew, was that without Kaitlyn her lifed seemed meaningless.

"All rise for the ruling of Judge Brown, "the balif said as everyone in the courtroom got up. The judge motioned for everyone to sit down as she did.
"Well, my dicission is that James, is an unsuitable father and the court awards Emily and Joshua Chasez full custody of Kaitlyn,"and with that the whole nightmare was over. Everything was going to be okay again.
"Mommy,"Kaitlyn cried and jumped into Emily's outstretched arms. JC and Emily hugged and kissed her repeatidly. "I never want to leave you again," Kaitlyn sobbed into JC's hair. JC hugged the small child tighter.
"You aren't ever going to have to, "JC cried into the small gurl's shoulder. The years had past and Kaitlyn was all grown up and then the days grew longer but when all was said and done....Emily and JC truely were the perfect couple....
