COMMANDER'S MESSAGE
I'd like to thank you for visiting our eTriple Duece. I would like to inform you that Post 222 is one of the largest membership post in the 9th District, Department of Florida. The post's current membership is 541 members and is still growing.
We also have a large hall, that holds about 300 people, that is for rent. The hall has held several wrestling events, weddings, parties, etc. The rates are very reasonable. Please call and make an appointment to come and see the hall or just stop by if your in the neighborhood.
The American Legion has many various programs. Many of these programs are supported throughout the Nation, such as Boys Scouts, High School Oratorical, American Legion Baseball, Boys State/Boys Nation, School Medals, Flag Education, Junior Shooting Sports, Child Safety, Drug Abuse, Teenage Suidide Prevention, Junior Law Cadet Program, and the Sons of the American Legion. The American Legion also can aid with scholarship information, temporary financial assistance, and the American Legion child welfare foundation. The American Legion also handles and continues to fight for Veterarns Affairs and Rehabilitation through their field services and their Veterans' Service Officers. The American Legion maintains a fully staffed office in Washington DC to represent the membership in Congress and to lobby for veterans and military benefits.
Post 222 supports programs such as Junior Reserve Officers Training (JROTC), School Medals, Junior Shooting Sports, Sons of the American Legion, Law and Order, Blood Drives, Children and Youth, Americanism, and several others.
