FAITH HILL
She was born Audrey Faith Perry on September 21, 1967 in Jackson, Mississippi in a little town called Star. Faith set out to follow her dreams to be a singer when she was 17 by moving to Nashville, but big moves and slowly making her name be known were just the beginning of what would forever change her life.
When Faith got her record deal with Warner Bros. Records and released her first album, 1993's "Take Me As I Am", Faith shot straight to the top, and stayed there. Her first single "Wild One" stayed at #1 for an amazing 4 weeks, setting a Billboard Magazine record. No artist in country music has ever had their debut single top the charts for more than 3 weeks in a row. The Buzz was all about Faith. In 1995 she won the Country Music Association's Best New Female Artist Award, that same ceremony Tim McGraw was named Best New Male Artist. It was at that award show that tim asked Faith to be part of his tour, she quickly accepted. 1996's Spontanious Combustion Tour was a huge success, and backstage romance turned to onstage love as the world began to see a whole new side of Faith and Tim. Shortly after the tour ended Faith and Tim announced they were expecting their first child. On October 6, 1996 friends and family of the McGraws, and friends and family of the Hills were asked to come to a cookout in Nashville. But as the guest arrived they were shocked to find they were actually at a wedding. Faith took some time off as Tim began work on the album that would change his career with a record setting first single "It's Your Love" featuring vocals by Faith. The duet was debuted in April of 1997 just about a month prior to the birth of their first child Grace Katherine (May 5) at the Acadamy of Country Music Awards and in 1998 it won an amazing 6 awards at that same show. And Faith was ready to make her comeback, with baby in tow Faith released the first single from her third album "Faith" titled "This Kiss", the high energy song powered by an amazing futuristic video took Faith straight to the top.
Just as "This Kiss" was released Faith announced to Tim she was pregnant again. While "This Kiss" proved Faith has what it takes to be a country DiVa, it took on a whole new light as it introduced Faith as a Pop Star. By the release of the albums second single "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me", Faith and Tim were working around her pregnancy for romantic video, a black and white continuation from their debut video together "It's Your Love". On August 12, 1998 Faith Gave Birth to their second child, Maggie Elizabeth. A few months after baby Maggie was born, she experienced something not all kids get to experience... life on the road. Faith and Tim were headlining seperate tours but made a pact that whenever possible that they not spend more than 3 days apart no matter what. The "This Kiss" tour was a huge success, and they're pact was hard at times but worked. Faith went back into the studio to record her fourth CD, a CD that would define her as an artist and make Faith Hill a household name. 1999 was named the year of Faith Hill, she kicked it off in January performing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, and just a couple of months later released the first single from her new album "Breathe", a song that would be named the number one song of the year on billboards hot 100 singles. Faith's new womanhood appeal had fans wanting more, and that's exactly what she gave them. The second single "The Way You Love Me" proved to be a huge radio hit, and remixed the right way took Faith into the clubs. All of the success of "Breathe" was unheard of, considering she did no tour to promote it.
