our real estate renovations
This page will be updated with photos of before and after of renovations we are doing to houses in Queensland.
House 1 East Ipswich
The house was in a real mess. It had been tenanted for the last ten years and no maintenance was done. Not a blade of grass in the front yard! I have found out a little on the history of the house.
It was originally owned by a lady who had looked after it so well. She had a lovely garden etc.
When she left that's when the house became very neglected because of the worst tenants for the next ten years. The Real Estate property manager has a lot to answer for in allowing the tenants etc to do this to the house and to allow it to become so neglected.
When I look at the before photos I cant believe how bad it was !
No driveway, no grass, no tender loving care YUK!
House Before August 2003
The OLD "driveway", old garage, old everything!
The old front yard
The new House !!!!!!!!!
Renovations done January/February 2004
As you will see it looks better as improvements were done
Double carport added and new driveway made using multi coloured gravel.
Brand new turf just been laid. The front yard hadn't had any grass for about 10 years!
Also we added plants! That was not hard to do.
New black garden fence and gate.
Instead of getting the fence powder coated we got about 4 cans of black spray paint and painted the fence ourselves. The cost for the paint was under $20
New rumpus room sliding glass door. This was the old garage which had a new concrete floor made, new paintwork, new curtains and a wall put up dividing the laundry from the new rumpus room
New paintwork in rumpus room. It is hard to believe this room was once a garage with holes in the wall
New timber step leading from the new rumpus room into the hallway
Casement windows with new cream and black paintwork

The house was purchased 15th August 2003 to specifically renovate.
It had been tenanted for the last 10 years by many tenants and virtually no maintenance was done to the house in that time. The front yard was just dirt and lots of bits of concrete around.
This is our first full renovation project and work only done usually on a weekend.
