Dandelion is a lap cat. He is smart, too. The mother has a home office. She runs in and out of rooms during the day while Dandelion sleeps on a cat blanket on the sofa in the living room. The mother walks past him several times a day. BUT when the mother comes out of her room, carrying a book, Dandelion perks up. He begins to get excited and meows a lot. I never could figure that out until last night. Apparently, Dandelion knows that when the mother is carrying a book, she is getting ready to relax on the sofa and then - she makes a lap! Dandelion is ready to sit in her lap and get petted and purrs for the next hour or so. He has her figured out. (About that time, I like to sleep nearby on the cat blanket. I am not a lap cat although I prefer hanging out in the same room as my pet humans.)
