Traditional Pontian Clothes

The clothes worn by Pontians in the past (like anywear in the world) all depended on the area of Pontos they lived in. To understand this you must look at the Geographical area of Pontos. The biggest mistake made by most Greek Pontian Costume makers, is that they try to represent all of Pontos with just one costume. Like Greece Pontos (which is a bigger area) not only changes it s costume from state to state but in many cases from village to village (same as its traditions and habits). Like in everything else, there are your work clothes, everyday clothes and your going out good clothes.

Financial status also determined what you wore in the means of jewelry and for the men weaponry.
