Alias Stars Reveal Spoilers Michael Vartan—whose character, CIA Agent Vaughn, found himself in peril in the season finale of ABC's Alias—revealed to SCI FI Wire spoilers about Vaughn's fate in that flooded corridor. "Let's just say I have a very powerful breaststroke," Vaughn said in an interview, without disclosing details about his character's future. Vartan added that the show's second-season premiere "literally picks up exactly where it left off and answers almost all the questions that were posed at the end of last season. I'm obviously not going to give away any of the meaty answers, but it addresses all the questions everyone had when the show ended last year." Meanwhile, Bradley Cooper—who plays journalist Will Tippin—told SCI FI Wire to expect growth in his character. "All I can say is Will changes a lot," Cooper said in an interview. "Think about it this way. If you get tortured, you get your teeth pulled out, you get injected with a serum that one out of five people become paralyzed for life from, you're not the same person when you come out of that. All I can say is he's definitely turned a new leaf in a way." Cooper doubted that a romance would develop between Tippin and Sidney (Jennifer Garner), at least in the short term. "Will's going through so many changes, I think if that's ever going to happen, it'll be a long time to come," he said. "He's just found out that she leads this double life. I think what his main concern now is just getting to know this woman—this woman who he's always been in love with, but has never really known. It's almost like getting to know somebody for the first time." Vartan said that he hoped that the writers would explore a romance between Vaughn and Sidney, but not too soon. "I think it's a good storyline to play for a couple of years, if we're so lucky to go that far," he said. "But I do think there is definitely a potential there." Alias returns to its Sunday timeslot this fall.

In other news, Gina Torres (Anna Espinosa) will appear in the two Matrix sequel that will be released late 2002, and 2003. (info provided by scifi.com)

7/8/2002  Alias: Season Two
Alias season two starts shooting this month!!

7/3/2002 Jennifer Garner Talks about Daredevil
The Yahoo! Group JenniferGarner found this MTV.com article: "It was my
favorite comic book as a kid," Ben Affleck said of "Daredevil."
"Everybody has their one thing from their childhood that they really
remember and affected them and moved them, and this was that thing for
me. It was really a no-brainer."
Affleck was one of many cast and crew members of Fox's "Daredevil"
assembled in a cavernous banquet room in the Biltmore Hotel — which
doubles as the "Daredevil" set — to meet the press and sound off about
the latest comic-turned-movie.
Aside from Affleck, who plays the title character and his alter ego,
Matt Murdock, Jennifer Garner (Elektra), Michael Clarke Duncan (Wilson
"The Kingpin" Fisk), Jon Favreau (Foggy Nelson), Joe Pantoliano (Ben
Urich), writer/ director Mark Stephen Johnson and producers Avi Arad and
Gary Foster were all on hand, while Coolio (Daunte Jackson) and
"Minority Report" star Colin Farrell (Bullseye) were noticeable
absences. With the possible exception of a sometimes
disinterested-looking Pantoliano, the rest of the gang was eager to
discuss the long-awaited film adaptation of one of Marvel Comics' most
beloved superheroes.

6/13.02 Jennifer Garner's Next "Big" Movie
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: "Is Jennifer Garner the next Tom Hanks? Sort of. She's in talks to star in ''13 Going on 30,'' for which she'd earn $3 million, the Hollywood Reporter says. The paper describes the movie as a female ''Big,'' about a gawky adolescent who is transformed into a popular, full-grown adult babe. Garner would shoot the film next year, when her hit series ''Alias'' goes on production hiatus."

6/9/02  Alias Action Figures
In last week's Entertainment Weekly, it was revealed that there will be Alias Action Figures
coming out later this year. The details were sparse, but an informed reader sent me the
following information:
The action figures are being put out by McFarlane Toys and will have two series -- one
released in October, one in December.
SERIES ONE: Sydney Bristow #1, Sydney Bristow #2, Jack Bristow, Arvin Sloane, Michael
Vaughn, Dixon
SERIES TWO: Sydney Bristow #3, Michael Vaughn #2, Marshall, Laura Bristow, Will Tippin,
McKenas Cole
Thanks Harris K. Telemacher for the info!

6/7/02 Laura Bristow I
Lena Olin has been cast for the part of Sydney's Mom (Laura Bristow)!!
(Pic on the right)  Lena Olin born in Sweden, had already made a
successful career as an actress before she came to Hollywood. She acted at
the Royal Theatre in Stockholm directed by Ingmar Bergman. Her father Stig
Olin was also an actor and played in Bergman's masterpiece of Sjunde
inseglet, Det (1957) (aka The seventh Seal). Lena also belongs to the
Bergman "family". As a young actress she played in the great classics
of Shakespeare, Ibsen and Strindberg. She made her international debut
as a movie actress in Efter repetitonen (after the rehearsal) directed by
Bergman. In western Europe she became well known in the political
movie Unbearable Lightness of Being, The (1988), as Sabina, a story
about the Prague spring (1968). After coming to the USA she
played mostly distinguished, exotic temptresses, intelligent women
and crude vamps. Bergman had developed her artistic gift to play different
human emotions and express them in a subtle way. Sydney Pollack director
of Out of Africa (1985) rewrote the scenario for the movie Havanna
especially for Lena. This explains why this film recalls associations with
the classic movie Casablanca (1942) starring Ingrid Bergman also from Sweden.

6/7/02  Laura Bristow II
It's been posted in the forums, but here's an excerpt from E ONLINE's Wanda: "For those who haven't heard, Sydmom will be played by Swedish stunner Lena Olin for a minimum of 16 episodes. "Until now, women of this age haven't had a kickass role model," Abrams said. "I think Lena's the perfect actress to change that."  Fabu. So, what can we expect from the bad mamma jamma? "There is a world of mystery surrounding this beautiful woman," Abrams said. "What she's seen and how she's survived it proves she's easily as tough as Sydney--and 20 years wiser. She'll surprise the hell out of you."

6/4/02 Mom's the Word
Since villains as treacherous as Alias secret-agent woman Sydney Bristow's mother, Laura, are hard to come by in the real world, we can all rest a little easier. The ABC sleeper's producers, on the other hand, can't afford a moment's shut-eye. Since they teased the character's introduction in the season finale, they now are faced with the formidable task of filling the role — no mean feat, considering that the double-dealing spy babe, also known as Irina Derevko, is hot enough to have enticed Sydney's dad, Jack, into marriage and cold enough to have iced good guy Michael Vaughn's father. "We are on the verge of casting it," series creator J.J. Abrams tells TV Guide Online. "It's very exciting!" But, before the powers that be settle on an actress, perhaps they should break into our top-secret files and peruse the list of contenders we think might kick butt as the ex-KGB conniver. — Charlie Mason with Michael Ausiello
Mimi Rogers: Her hiring by The X-Files as David Duchovny's old flame marked the onset of that show's decline. However, the gig did give the first Mrs. Tom Cruise "FBI training" and a chance to prattle on about conspiracy theories while modeling trench coats.
Lois Chiles: Not only does the Bond girl have the look and credentials of an enigmatic Mata Hari, but if Moonraker doc Holly Goodhead's arrival doesn't spike the ratings, she can always dial 0-0-7 and call retired operative Roger Moore back into service.
Diane Lane: Now that she's riding high on the success of Unfaithful, she might be too big for the small screen. Then again, perhaps she — like unfortunate ticket buyers — hasn't forgotten Jack and Judge Dredd. In any case, just imagine the love scenes!
Jennifer Hetrick: Besides possessing as square a jaw as would-be daughter Jennifer Garner, she once had a recurring role on L.A. Law as two-timer Corbin Bernsen's wife. So she already considers getting into bed with untrustworthy sleazebags all in a day's work.
Michelle Pfeiffer: So she hasn't done TV since B.A.D. Cats in 1980. Now that Ashley Judd has purr-loined the lead in the Catwoman movie, the Batman Returns villainess might be in just the mood to scratch out someone's eyes — whatever the medium.
Roberta Weiss: Want international intrigue? Pick a foreign femme fatale. Stateside, the native of Canada is best known as a soap sexpot (Santa Barbara). Overseas, though, the star of such exotically titled features as La Danse du Scorpion had audiences at bonjour.
Kathleen Turner: Since Laura was nicknamed "The Man," maybe he... er, she would be best brought to life by the guy... er, gal who bent her gender as Matthew Perry's pop on Friends, then generated ultrafeminine body heat by stripping on Broadway for The Graduate.
Madonna: What's the point of the Material Mom building up her biceps if she's not going to pummel anybody? Plus, portraying a turncoat whose motives are never clear could be the ideal showcase for her infamously blank line readings, if not her prefab English accent.

6/1/02 Is Vaughn Dead?
Michael Vartan's (who plays Michael Vaughn) contract  has been renewed for a new season!  Meaning one of two things:
1:  He isn't dead.  2: He is playing a dead person all season.
