I thought the moment was right,
Sitting there, looking up at the night.
He put his hands around my waist,
The only sense I had left was my taste.
I held my head high,
Knowing I was one of few.
I waited to say those words,
those demons, my foes.
Girls I knew tossed the words around with no concern.
I guess now it's my turn,
but with the concern
That is a burn in my heart.
I feel my face turn red,
I feel the truth come out.
Will he doubt?
Will he think our time dead?
Why did I say that?
Why do I feel it?
It sounds so dramatic,
but to me it's automatic.
