She

She sits in silence,
Alone in her fragile space,
Mind floating off
To memories she wishes to erase.
She hangs inside her mind,
Hiding her true self from others,
Trying to escape the pain
From which she smothers.

She plays to a full house,
Lost on life's stage,
Wandering here and there,
Making the paper's front page.

She feels things deeply,
Touched by the sorrow and pain,
Staying out of touch
To ease her malignant brain.

She walks the vacant streets
When the dusk meets the dawn,
Thinking of the day ahead
And suppresses her yawn.
