A brief general history of these industries and some of the ironmaster families in Glamorgan.
This site is very well worth visiting. Marie Trevelyan's works on Welsh Life and Folklore make excellent reading and give some insight into life in Wales in general, but most specifically in Glamorgan. There are sections on Non-conformist preachers, Vale women, Farms and farmers, the old Welsh squires and many more fascinating subjects. It is part of a larger site called V Wales which has other points of interest.
An interesting site by Helen Forder on this remarkable woman who, with her husband, Benjamin Hall, did much to support Welsh culture in the 19th century.
