Here is a short list of all the major changes that have occurred to this home page since it's inception late in 1997.
July 1999: Not much happened this month. Only one award handed out, that being to the Red, White And Blue Captain America Page.
June 1999: Very busy month. Yet another site is awarded with the Helmet of Honour Award as the Unofficial Hypertime Site is honoured for it's efforts. Hawkworld.....Still Goin' Strong gets multimedia, as the manager (me) embedds .wav files into each main page, describing what to expect. And it is with regret that the following sites ceased operation. The Message Boards of the Hawkworld. Don't worry, they still have their own individual sites that they are linked to. Hawks in Crisis. Just didn't have the heart to keep it up anymore. The Unofficial Ambush Bug Home Page for reasons self-explanitory. And finally, The Unofficial Zauriel Web Guide. I couldn't keep it going as I was too busy with my two main Hawk sites. Fortuneately, this gave me the chance to move the Unofficial Spider-Girl Home Page to the vacated site. And finally, as you may have noted, the Hawkworld Elseworlds page has now moved to this location.
May 1999: Back to awarding comic sites and DC Comics sites as Project JSA receives the Helmet of Honour award for the month of May. Also, another site is added to the ring with a stand alone Hawks in Crisis. This site details the Hawks through Crisis on Infinite Earths and Zero Hour. Personally this month, I graduated from Computer Application Specialist at the Heinze Institute and am moving on to Desktop Publishing. And to think, only two more years before entering into archaeology at the University of Saskatchewan.
April 1999: The first non-comic book site wins the covetted Helmet of Honour Award as the You Can't Do That on Star Trek site receives the award for the month of April. The Unofficial Hawkworld Home Page goes through a name change, becoming Hawkworld.....Still Goin' Strong!
March 1999: The African American Non Super&Super Hero Home Page wins the coveted Helmet of Honour award for this month.
February 1999: DC Comics' Starman operated by Alex Tam was the February winner of the Helmet of Honour Award. The Message Board of the Hawkworld is added to the ring. A site brought together by many of the members of the ring, and administered by myself.
January 1999: Earth Angel: The Legend of Supergirl is the receipient of the Helmet of Honour Award for the month of December. The Unofficial ShadowHawk Home Page begins canvassing AIDS Information Pages in receiving more information on the debilitating disease. Attempts to convince a recurring e-mail sender to start a second ShadowHawk page begins. A clean up takes place, as the Golden Age Hawks move to Angelfire from Geocities, residing where the Alternate Hawkworld used to reside. That site is removed from the ring. Dan Thompson's Blackhawk Comics Home Page is entered into the Hawkworld Web Ring. And finally, this very busy month saw the awarding of the Helmet of Honour Award to Black Canary & Oracle: Birds of Prey becoming the sixth receipient and the first for 1999! All this and the beginning of my own classes at school too!
December 1998: The Ultimate Hawkworld Contest is launched with the winners gaining the right to maintain one of four exsisting Hawkworld Web Ring Sites. Themiscyra: The Wonder Woman Page! wins the coveted Helmet of Honour Award for the month of November.
November 1998: The Women of DC Comics receives the Helmet of Honour Award for the month of October. The Unofficial Hawkworld Home Page celebrates one year of existing on the internet, beginning at this very site.
October 1998: The Golden Age Hawks get their own site, moving to The Golden Age Hawkman & Hawkgirl Home Page. This site also becomes the tenth site in the Web Ring. Johan Weiland's Comic Book Resources wins the Helmet of Honour award for the month of September.
September 1998: The Unofficial Hawkworld Home Page moves to FortuneCity.com, but the Web Ring becomes a site unto it's own back at Angelfire.com. The Unofficial Green Arrow Web Guide becomes the first site to win the Helmet of Honour Award for the month of August.
July 1998: The Unofficial Zauriel Web Guide becomes a reality, moving from the Unofficial Hawkworld Home Page. Also in this month, the first non-DC related comic site is added to the ring with The Unofficial ShadowHawk Home Page.
May 1998: The Official Hawkworld Web Ring begins with three sites. Those being DTE's Page, a site run by Daniel Tomasi containing his own artwork, which includes some very good images of Hawkman. The Hawkman FAQ is another and the Hawkworld Home Page itself. The Hawkworld Elseworlds Page enters later.
February 1998: The story lines of the Hawkworld are moved to a site of their own, The Unofficial Hawkworld Elseworlds Home Page.
October 1997: The Hawkworld site becomes a reality.
