Grand Master Seikichi Uehara on Sunset Beach, Okinawa.
Seikichi Uehara is the 12th Soke of the Ryuku Oke Hiden Motobu Udun Ti. Born on March 24, 1904, he became a pupil of Choyu Motobu Sensei the 11th Soke of Ryukyu Oke Hiden Motobu Udun Ti, in 1916, and succeeded him in 1926 as the 12th Soke. Uehara held the President of the Federation of Okinawan Karate and Kubudo Organizations and currently is Chairman of the Title and Dan Ranking Practical Skill Examination Committee, Advisor to Okinawan Prefectural Karate-do-Federation, and director of Nippon Kobudo Association.
