1997 SEASON REVIEW

Feb 27th, 1997:
Signed a one year Deal with the Angels.
April 7th, 1997:
First hit of the season:RBI double off Andy Pettitte, Angels lose to NYY 5-3.
April 15th, 1997
Sent down to AAA Vancouver of the PCL.
July 2nd, 1997:
Called up from AAA Vancouver
July 12th, 1997:
First 2-hit game. Recorded 2 singles and scored 2 runs. Upped average to .233.
July 16th, 1997:
First 2-HR game, hit 2 solo shots off Brian Moehler. Upped average to .265, doubled RBI total to 4.
July 17th 1997:
First 3-hit game, had 3 singles, scored 3 runs and knocked in 1. Also recorded 1st stolen base of the season, upped average to .316.
July 29th, 1997:
Hit 3rd HR of the season, also recorded a single.
July 30th, 1997:
Hit 4th HR of the season, a solo shot off
Charles Nagy, upped RBI total to 9.
July 31st, 1997:
Recorded career highs in hits(4), runs (3) and RBI(6), hitting 2 doubles, a HR, and a single, upped RBI total to 15, upped average to .328.
August 10th, 1997:
Hit a solo HR(6) off Jimmy Key.
August 12th, 1997:
Hit a 2-run Double, recorded RBI's 17 & 18
August 14th, 1997:
Hit 3-run HR off J Mercedes, upped RBI total to 21.
August 16th, 1997:
Hit a solo HR off A Rhodes, upped RBI total to 22, average went down to .289.
August 18th, 1997:
hit a 2-run HR off D Wells, also recorded 2 runs and a single, upped RBI total to 24, HR total to 9 and average to .295.
August 19, 1997:
Broke his wrist after taking a foul tip off Yankee second baseman Rey Sanchez's bat, in the 4th inning of the 1st game of a doubleheader. He was sidelined for the rest of the season.
