Hi and welcome to the unofficial fan page for 1992 Olympic Silver Medalists Elena Bechke & Denis Petrov! I first saw Elena and Denis skate on the television broadcast of Isabelle Brasseur and Lloyd Eisler's 'Dreams On Ice' four years ago. Their elegance in 'Romance' and playfulness in 'Kalinka' blew me away and they've been my favourite pairs team ever since. Like most of their fans, I feel that they were greatly underappreciated by the figure skating world. I got my one and only chance to see them skate live at the 1998 Chrysler Stars On Ice, and predictably, they were amazing. I also saw Denis with the 2001 Stars On Ice. August 16th, 2005: I just recently found out that earlier this year, in July, Denis married figure skater and 2-time Olympic Bronze Medalist Lu Chen! Congratulations to the happy couple! Read more here.
December 15th, 2004: If anybody is still a regular visitor to this humble little site, you've probably noticed that this is the first update in quite some time! About 2 years, actually. Sadly, there is little to update about Elena and Denis. Both have retired from show skating and are coaching in Richmond. Elena remarried in 2001 and in 2002 gave birth to a son! Denis was recently one of five judges at the World Team Championship in Edmonton, Alberta, in December 2004. Jamie Salé and David Pelletier won the pairs competition and even did B&P's signature "impossible" death spiral in their long program! Apart from this, there is very little to add at this time.
NOTE FROM WEBMISTRESS: I cannot stress strongly enough - I AM NOT ELENA AND DENIS! I am just a fan who runs a fan page about them! So please do not leave messages for them in the guestbook. Why? Well, first of all, they've probably never even seen this page. Secondly, I do not have a way of sending those messages to them. And thirdly, even if they did visit here and read the guestbook, most of those messages are private so Elena and Denis wouldn't be able to view them because they don't have my password!
