Bench Mob Scores 52 By Clinton KingsCourt Co-Founder (Written on November 19, 1999)
The Sacramento Kings continued their tear through the NBA tonight, as they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 103-94. Chris Webber made up for his poor performance last night by scoring 24 points including 6 in the Sacramento 13-4 run, which was late in the fourth quarter; Webber also grabbed 11 rebounds. Jon Barry played great for the second straight night, scoring 15 points and grabbing 5 boards. With the poor play of Jason Williams (1-9 for 3 points) and Nick Anderson (0-7 for 0 points), The Bench Mob stepped up again accounting for 52 of the total 103 points (51%). The main performers along with Barry were Scot Pollard (12 boards), Derrick Martin (12 points, 5 assists), and Predrag Stojakovic (15 points, 8 rebounds). Michael Finley led Dallas with nearly a triple-double, scoring 24 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and dishing out 8 assists.
This is the Kings' fifth straight win, and it pushes their record to 6-1. Dallas drops its fifth of their last 7 games; Sacramento will now play Houston at the ARCO Arena on November 21.
