Welcome to the Atlanta Aquarium. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in partnership with local sponsers to build an aquarium in the downtown Atlanta area. Our mission is to build a facility to educate the public about the importance of our oceans and our local waters. The aquarium will display both local species and animals from the oceans of the world. We will stress the conservation and management of our local resources such as the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier.
