Ben McCLain Jackson

January 12, 1977 - August 8, 1999

Son of Harold & Patsy Jackson

To Those I love, and to Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had some years.

I give you my love. You can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown.
But now it's time I traveled alone.

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part.
So keep the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on,
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near,
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear.
All of my life around you soft and near.

And then when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say ...

Welcome Home!

A Tribute to Ben Jackson

By Harry H. Silvis, Thomasville

Ben Jackson was a young man whose presence made you glad;
He had a way to cheer you up when you were feeling sad.
His concern for people made him want to help them out.
He was a Christian young man; not perfect, but devout.

Ben's love for family and sports was known upon this sod,
But uppermost n this man's life was Christ, the son of God.
He loved to talk about his Lord, but didn't push or shove.
But given opportunity, he'd witness of God's love.

Why would a faithful Christian whose future seemed so bright
Be struck by lightning and killed, without a storm in sight?
Only God in all his wisdom knows why such a thing should be.
But we know that Ben's with Christ, for all eternity.

And although Ben can't be seen, his presence lingers on,
His Christian life shines brightly, although his body's gone.
The testimonies that we hear from all the folks he knew,
Is proof that God is using Ben, his mighty work to do.

God had a plan for this young man, to glorify his name;
Ben's faithfulness to Christ is for God's glory and his fame.
Although Ben Jackson's life on earth was ended in his prime,
He has a life in Heaven that transcends the realm of time.

Ben Jackson's testimony showed that he loved the Lord;
He wanted everyone to know God's peace and one accord.
If you want to be like Ben, and have that life brand new;
Trust in Christ as Savior and he will give new life to you.
