Likeju, Writing and Rock'nRoll: My Life In a Nutshell

Hello, and welcome to an exciting installment of "Let's All Watch Cheese Age!" If my life were a game show, this would most likely be the title. That's not to say that my friends aren't lively and charismatic. In fact, they are very complex and lovely people. All of us just returned from an excursion on which we explored our homestate, Georgia. The highlights of our trip were,

* Spending 18 hours on a bus

* Quoting scenes from The Lion King

* Seeing a mall smaller than my house

* Watching inumerable cotton fields go by in the scenery

* Watching one of our male teachers grab his... you get the picture

* Viewing first-hand "Oscar the Animatronic Alligator"

* Stalking this totally hot guy who happened to be our tour guide

* Seeing a Montessori school and a real gay bar

* Getting to play Ghetto Mini-Golf

Some of the far less important events were,

* Visiting what seemed like hundreds of historic and not-so-historic sites, which supposedly are all very important. Most of them deal with the Civil War and colonial Georgia.(Andersonville, Okeefenokee Swamp, Fort King George, Jekyll Island, Savannah, Wormslow Plantation, and the Little White House)

But where we went is seriously not relevant. I was attempting to tell you about my friends. Here are some pictures of them and the places that we visited:

This is three of my four bestest friends in the whole wide world. They're standing around a gorgeous cyprus tree on the equally breathtaking Jekyll Island.

This, if you are completely thick, is a sunrise. Beautiful, especially since I took the picture. The boys' hotel is the building on the right. It is from our balcony at our hotel suite. Note that I say suite. We were the only ones out of 140 people who got such a great room. (Don't ask why; it is a LONG story...)

One of the several nice historic homes on Jekyll. Here is a little history lesson, in case you wanted to know. Jekyll Island is where many millionaires built their vacation "cottages." Astor, Gould, Rockefeller, Morgan, Pulitzer, Macy and Goodyear are some of the famous names connected with the island. They all bought the property from John Eugene duBignon, another world-renouned rich guy. It's a very pretty place if you ever have the chance to go.

Another pic from the island; this is the posh Clubhouse.

Well, these two are certainly not famous but they are my friends.

A rather nice picture of a church in Savannah. Savnnah is another more than picture-perfect place to go see.

Okay, well, enough about the GA trip. Let's talk about me. (Wow, somebody needs an ego check...) La la la... hmm, I told you that there isn't nuch to say. Well, since I can't do this in paragraph format like I should be able to, I'll do this in a list like a second grader...

Name: From what you know, I am GHarrisongirl or SunshyneDaisyGirl, but my real first name isn't very common. Kendell. There, I said it. I don't fancy it, how 'bout you?

Hobbies and Junk Like That: I write almost in all of my free time. I like to run and I am quite fast, or so I am told. Well, I've got to be because I've won several events at track meets. You could almost even call my dog a hobby because I end up having to walk, scratch that, run him every day. I love music of almost any kind and I don't know if I could live without it. I would be a completely different person had I not been turned on to classic rock at such an early age. I'll talk about that later, though. My very best friends and I made up the word Likeju with our first names. (like you saw at the top) We like to make up pointless inside jokes. You can see them here.

Music: The Soundtrack to My Life: Here is that bit I promised about the music I listen to. Gosh, really, I'll tolerate anything, except for country, rap, and pop. But what totally makes me hurl is pop. I loathe BSB, O Town, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera... the whole works. BLAH!!! I love the following bands or artists: Simon and Garfunkel, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, James Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, C4, SR-17, Dido, Moby, Vertical Horizon, Linkin Park, The Who, The Police, Goo Goo Dolls, blink-182, Eric Clapton, Black Crowes, REM, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jeff Beck, Nirvana, U2, Buddy Holly, Marvin Gaye, Beach Boys, Joni Mitchell, The Kinks... you name it, I like it. Actually, the thing that got me started with all of this wonderful music was the Monkees. God Bless the Monkees! I think that they are great, but not like the kind of great that all this other stuff is.

Beatle Ramblings:

My favorite Beatles in order...

1. George *drool*

2. John/Paul (It's a tie, but it used to be that Paul was #3,498,750,876 Beatle. I used to HATE Paul, and I'm not sure why. He's all right, I guess, but since John was my first favorite in the beginning, John pulls slightly ahead.)

3. And, of course, Ringo. (Ringo at one point was my favorite, too. But that was before I even acknowledged George's existance...) *All due to one very special person!!!!*

I love most any of the albums, but I love all of the later ones. Sgt. Pepper was the first one that I bought, then came Revolver, Abbey Road and the White Album.

A Schedule for My Average Saturday:

8:00 AM- Get up. Fall out of bed and, dragging covers with me, turn on computer, then crawl into bed and drool over pillow as I drop dead asleep again.

8:30 AM- Be woken by the loud noise of my sister's comp turning on. (It plays the Peanuts theme at a volume louder than some aboveground nuclear tests.) Sit down on stool in front of desk and click/tap/pound my way into my main e-mail account. See that inbox is empty and then log into my six other e-mail accounts only to assure myself that they are all empty as well. Cross off a day on my Beatles calendar and seeing that the bed is still warm, crawl back in.

9:15 AM- Wake up for the third time. Log into e-mail again just to make sure that they are still empty. Have a heart attack if there is something in one of them. Reply to whoever it is that mailed, then check on all of the websites in my favorites, which takes several hours.

Noon- Realizing that I have skipped several meals, I walk into the kitchen and open refridgerator door at least 30 times until I'm sure that there is nothing edible in there. Repeat process for pantry, then walk back to my room without having eaten. (I never really eat when I don't have to. That contributes to the fact that I am such a tiny person weight-wise. I am 5'5" and I weigh no more than 100 pounds. My BMI (body-mass-index) says that I am 15.64, when 18.5 is underweight and 30 is obese. My friends get on me for not eating, but when I do eat, I can eat a lot!!!)

For the remainder of the day, I surf the web and work on my story. That is unless someone calls me. If they do, it totally throws off my schedule.

Sometime before 3:00 AM- I finally bother with going to sleep, but not before eating my cermonious Pasta-Roni dinner. I can't live through a weekend without eating at least three of these.

So there you have it, I told you that my life is pathetic. But on the week days, it is much more lively. I am currently in the ninth grade. I am in all Advanced Placement courses, called TAG classes. (TAG being Talented And Gifted.) School is important and sometimes even, *gasp*, fun, but it is back-breaking. On top of that, I'm in all sorts of clubs, like InterAct and stuff. I'm also in Chorus and have been for as long as I can remember. I hope that it gives a slightly better impression of me when you hear about my academic career.

"These are a few of my favorite things..."

Color: either black, blue or platinum.

Movies: The Matrix, Austin Powers, All You Need is Cash (The Rutles), Dude Where's My Car?, The Emperor's New Groove, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Birds, Psycho, A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Notting Hill, Runaway Bride, Autumn in New York, Serendipity, My Fair Lady, Amadeus, and Keeping the Faith. I am a huge Richard Gere and Julia Roberts fan.

Most Likely to Be on the Tube When I'm Watching: I don't particularly love television, but I DO love Will and Grace, My Wife and Kids, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, The Drew Carey Show, Whose Line is It Anyway?, Raising Dad, Maybe It's Me, and Reba.

My Crush: A particular guy at school, who I am not going to even descibe for fear that my sneaky friends will give him this address so he can find me out. What I will tell you is that he is rather reminiscent of George, actually.

Again, there is my life, spilled onto a page in all of its simplicity. Thanks for listening, even if you really didn't.

Peace, Love and Beatles,

GHarrisongirl/SunshyneDaisyGirl, webmistress.

P.S.- Please e-mail me as long as it is positive stuff. I never interrupt when I'm being praised. But really, even if it's for no real reason at all, please mail me!
