This is the affirmative case Chad and I are running this year in Debate. Basically, companies are starting to genetically alter fish so they become bigger much much faster. Harmless enough right?
The problem is, there's no real way to control them. Once we give them super-growing, mega-reproducing, ultra-consuming powers, what happens next? Do they start breaking out of their fish farms? What if the escape and start reproducing in nature? What if they grow so big they start crapping all over the ocean and destroying coral reefs and uncheckedly devour all the plankton? What if vegetarian fish start growing fangs so they can devour the Earth? That'd kind of be bad.
That's why Chad and I promote banning Franken Fish. It's too dangerous to start messing with nature, and the idea of 15 foot salmon is really grotesque. Go forth and spread the word. Don't become victimized by these farmed and dangerous beings.
Franken Fish's fin is on the button.
