On the Road to Brittney
Game notes & Victory Conditions

This was our first game for the year 2011. We played this at Jay Stribling's home in Jackson Mississippi on January 2nd. Our rules were Disperse ye Damned Rebels by former Jackson Gamer Larry Brom, with a few "home brewed" modifications.

Special event cards for each side

From a standard 52-card deck of playing cards, the commander-in-chief of each side may draw ten cards. Up to two cards may be "played" each turn.

Each ACE allows one BRIGADE which has already move to move again after both armies have moved, OR to move FIRST before any other units move. This IN ADDITON to normal movement.
Each KING. QUEEN, or JACK allows ONE UNIT to fire before all other units fire, Enemy units take casualties before firing back.
Each JOKER allows 2 more cards to be drawn.
Each HEART allows ONE UNIT to make a double distance move.
Each DIAMOND allows ONE UNIT to pass a morale test automatically instead of rolling the dice.
Each SPADE allows ONE INFANTRY UNIT to fire as if "First fire" when firing - even it it has already used FIRST FIRE bonus. May not be used on same turn as using actual FIRST FIRE bonus.
Each CLUB allows ONE American unit to fight as if it had bayonets, when in fact it does not. British units may discard and re-draw any clubs that they draw.

More action between the Hessians, supported by a British battalion, and the defending Muricans.

Brittanian Player notes and objectives

You are here to destroy the powder mill at Brittney. You should brush aside the Rebel forces and move off the roads to the enemy rear.

All of your units have bayonets. Most of the Rebels do not. Light troops move through wooded areas as clear terrain. All others move at ½ rate and fight as disordered while in woods.

The central hills are passable by light troops in skirmish order only.
