The major parts of Ed Sansing's force - a commissar, T-70 and "The Boss" a JS-II. The Allies were Sean Pitts (who faced off against Jim Pitts, his father), Ed Sansing, who fought against Brian Thompson, and Phil Young, who fought against Ti Latham. Sean had a US force based on an M4 "Easy Eight" and paratroops. Phil'd nationality was Soviet, along with Ed. Phil's troops were a T-70, T-34/76, a KV-II and some infantry.

Ed Sansing recalls: "After lunch we brought on reinforcements. I believe Jim got Germans, Brian got Italians, and Tim got Germans (Nashorn and Tiger II). Sean got British. Phil and I got Americans. My force of two M18 Hellcats and two M24 Chafee light tankss came on behind Tim's PzIV and Tiger I. Phil damaged them and I was able to finish them off. Unfortunately I came on right next to the King Tiger and the Nashorn. This time I was the one who died quickly."

Ed says: "My JS-II and T-70 hold the middle of the field. Phil's reinforcements of four M4A3 Sherman's are trying to circle around the hill to get at the Nashorn SP gun. Across the field are burning T34, KV-II, Tiger I, MK-IV, M18's and Chaffee's. The King Tiger and Nashorn are near the left corner of the table (behind all the dice)."

This photo shows The last moments of the paratroops and the Easy Eight. Ed believes that the Jadgpanther (or Tiger) killed them.

The Sherman tanks's scurry behind the JS-II. Eventually the allies killed the Nashorn and the King Tiger but lost 2-3 Sherman's doing it.

Ed Sansing says "I believe Jim and Brian (Axis players) controlled their end of the table and it took both Phil and I to take out Tim. This would probably be considered an Axis victory."

Go to our SECOND Axis & Allies game as a "Big" club affair.
