The Three chosen warriors of the realm of earth are brought to Shang Tsungs Island, where they are to compete in the Mortal Kombat tournament. They all step into the boat in Hong Kong, which is to bring them there, for different, but all wrong reasons. But to be able to survive in the tournament theymust all learn to put those reasons aside, and fight for the right ones. The Mortal Kombat tournament was created by the Elder gods, so that the earth would be able to defend itself against outworld and it's evil emperor Shao Kahn. When Shao Kahn wins the tournament ten times in a row,he will be albe to invade the erath. He allready won nine tournaments in a row... Under guidence of Lord Rayden and the allegiance of Princess Kitana, the earth warriors: Liu Kang, descendant of Kung Lao, Sonya Blade, and Johnny Cage must face the outworld warriors in the ancient tournament. Shang Tsung has to be defeated, along with his Mortal Kombat champion Goro, the shokan prince, Reptile, who keeps an eye on Kitana, Kano, who was responsible for the death of Sonya's partner and all the other outworld warriors. But by fighting them, the chosen warriors not only risk their lives, but their souls as well. Allthough the movie is too different from the Mortal Kombat videogames story-lines, the music, soundeffecs and environment bring forward the Mortal Kombat style pretty good. The only thing that is not so good, is that the plot of the movie isn't linear enough with the real Mortal Kombat history, allthough you can see that the movie, more or less, goes along with the first and halfway the second Mortal Kombat videogame story-lines. All together the movie is a pretty good representation of Mortal Kombat, and there is even a little humor added in the movie, without hurting the story. It's imaginable the movie will not disappoint anytime in the movie, and when you see deeper into it, you'll see that it's really an Awsome movie.
