THE 2001 UNDER 14 HILLCREST HURRICANES
Welcome to the Hillcrest Hurricanes Under 14 team page. The Hurricanes are a representative/select team out of the
Hillcrest Village Soccer Club (HVSC), located at Leslie and Cummer/Finch. They are in their third year in competitve play
and have risen from the bottom to the top. They finished second in the regular season in the NYSA (North York Soccer Association) league
and lost in a penalty shoot-out in the finals. However that game was deemed to have been illegally played by the other team, and the became the NYSL Champs. The U13 (Under 13) team also did quite well, and has given the U14 team a
number of call up players, who have performed well. The Hurricanes also were entered in the Sunoco West Rouge
Tournament. They came out victorious winning the tournament, with 15 goals for, and only 4 against. Also the
Orillia Lightening (runners up in the West Rouge Tournament) gave the MVP award to the Goalkeeper of the Hurricanes,
even though the entire team gave a huge effort in winning the Tournament. They also came as runners up in the Milliken Mills
Tournament. The Hurricanes last tournament of the season was the Albert M. Campbell Tournament. They finished first in the round robin, but
once again only came as runners up in the finals. Now that their season is over, the Hurricanes will miss soccer over the winter, and will be back for anotehr great season next year.
