Bio: Raised by a small sect of monks in the mountains, Pinta was left there shortly after birth. He was taught the lifestyle of the Youso monks, who believed in natural living and pure, peaceful ways. Among their teachings, the monks believed in a link with the elements and, to a greater extent, the Life Stream. As a result, the Youso (and Pinta) hold the ability to use magic without the use of Materia. It does, however, take longer as multiple hand-motions and several specific words are involved. Pinta is sent on a pilgrimage to learn about the ways of the world and to obtain a better feel for nature.

Pinta is a pure-hearted boy, always helpful and as polite as he knows how to be. has rarely left his temple, so he is very out of place outside of his sect. Somewhat naïve, Pinta can be panicky and easily startled by the marvels of the world. He is strongly religious and tends to be overly reliant on his Shinto beliefs. In following of his teachings, Pinta has studied martial arts as self-discipline. In self-defense, he can use it to be a dangerous force. However, still a boy, he is unable to take a hit for his life and is easily knocked out. Pinta is also partially nearsighted, so he needs glasses for many purposes (reading, long-distance situations, though thankfully not fighting).
