Warriors of the Han Dynasty


Programmed by Omega Force, Dynasty Warriors was published by Koei, a company that specializes in reality based strategy and RPG games "based on the true story" of ancient China and Japan. The lead generals were given form in Dynasty Warriors. All of the named individuals are real people in the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese History, but their weapons and personalities may be different.


Hyper Combo Finish is a ancient looking guy dancing with a stick. If anyone has the symbols from the end of DW2, I'm very interested in those pics.

Sun Shang Xiang

The daughter of Sun Jian, leader of the Wu Kingdom. In an uncommon practice for the time, Xiang was trained from a young age in the arts of battle and war. She was one of the highest ranking females in China, commanding respect and honor from her fellow generals.


Strategy: A rare combination of high speed and defense, Xiang is a powerful warrior. Her main weakness is that her attacks don't do much damage.

    Wu Spin Kick*: Does a handstand and then spins around while flying forward. 5 hits
    Steel Rings*: Spins her chakram weapons around her. Protects Xiang from melee attacks. 4 hits
    Musou Sniper*: Draws a bow and fires a single arrow. If hit, the enemy becomes stunned
    Leaping Rings: Jumps straight up, throws her chakra down and forward, then flies after them.
    Basic Throw: Does a backflip, catching the enemy with her legs and throws the victim over her
    Bonus Abilities: Air Dash
    Launcher: A rising chop with her rings

    Hyper Attacks:
    Lunar Song*: A hyper of Steel Rings with more range. Results in 20 hits (A)
    Musou Quiver: Fires 15 arrows with a slight spread very rapidly.
    Ring Toss: Throws her rings forward (C) follows then with a 12 hit combo

  • Dian Wei

    A personal bodyguard of Wei king, Cao Cao. His intimidating appearance and battle prowess earned him the nickname of "Coming Evil".


    Strategy: Dian Wei is big and powerful. He is slow though, so he is often forced to play defensively. If the enemy uses projectiles often, use Gate Captain to put up a barrier and charge forward

    Grind Stone: Reachs out with his arm (T) and pushes the enemy along the ground.

    Incarnate of Evil*: Moves forward while swinging his axe like a madman. 12 hits
    Bullhead Axe: Flies straight up while spinning with his axe out. 12 hits
    Gate Captain: A group of 10 soldiers run forward through the enemy. Slow moving

    Enter: Sleeping on the ground, stands up and picks up axe
    Taunt: Pumps his arm in victory
    Victory: Taunts then spins around

  • Xu Zhu

    Simply put, an idiot who is a powerful warrior. Zhu is not by any means an intelligent man, but he is a natural in a battle, fighting by pure instinct. Called the "Sleeping Tiger" by his allies, Zhu is a feared man.


    Strategy: A low speed fighter with fairly low defense. His moves have fairly short range given his huge hammer, but playing defensive is a must. Use the rolling crash to move closer to distance enemies. The super armor gives Zhu some protection.

  • Chain Combo, Rolling Crash or Dizzy Drive
  • Sweep Combo, Rolling Crash or Spike Crusher or Ultimate Spike
  • Launcher, Air Combo, Iron Mallet

    Stats: Power*: 10 Energy: 3 Defense: 6 Speed: 2 Ratio: 2

    Special Moves:
    Rolling Crash*: Rolls forward in a ball.
    Iron Mallet*: Does a homerun swing with his mallet. Knocks the enemy all the way to the wall (A)
    Spike Crusher*: Slams into the enemy with his belly
    Mallet Masher: Air Only. Sits on top of his mallet to fall onto the enemy.
    Super Armor 2 during specials and hypers.
    Basic Throw: Pushes the enemy back and clubs the victim in the head
    Launcher: Punches upward using his mallet

    Hyper Attacks:
    Dizzy Drive*: Spins around in a circle, mallet out. Gets dizzy and falls at end. 12 hits. Last 2 blocked low
    Ultimate Spike: Does 4 Spike Crushers, followed by a leap and a earth shaking belly flop. 8 hits.
  • Note: Any enemy on the ground will take damage from the belly flop
    Outta There: Reachs out (T) throws the enemy into the air, hits with a home run swing. Huge damage.

    Victory: Does a home run swing
