oregon.

I have recently moved to Chicago from Portland, Oregon. A year and a half ago, to be precise. I have come to the conclusion that it is not the worst place in the world to live, except for one thing... The way people around here pronounce the word "Oregon." The word is pronounced Or-y-gUn... NOT Or-e-gOn. Damn you people who can't pronounce it!

Then again, I suppose that maybe I should not be complaining all that much. Last year I got into an arguement with some chick in my English class about whether or not Oregon existed. She claimed it did not. Let me ask, if Oregon doesn't exist, where had I been living for five years of my life? Do some people really not know what states are in the country they live in?
