Let me use this term lightly. When I say the term “sanguinarian” I do not mean a person who drinks blood. I am talking about a form of a vampyre. A sanguinarian is a vampyre who craves blood for either physical or internal reasons. They need blood to survive, without this fulfillment, one may drive to cut themselves to satisfy this hunger or may even kill. Sanguinarians are where hollywood took their image of a vampyre from and defaced it. They will not come knocking at your window at night, and stalk over you while you are sleeping. There are many things I could go into, physically about them, but the one true thing is this: They love blood, they need blood, they will do almost anything to get it. Just like when you crave ice cream and go to the store and they are out...you go to another store until you find it.

There are certain things which differentiate someone who thinks they are a vampyre and someone who is in fact, a vampyre. These include

1.Food allergies which are more prominent the more and more someone indulges in their blood lust. Their body becomes more acclimated to the blood and starts rejecting "normal" food, vomiting can occur, upset stomaches, and rashes.

2.Sensitivity to the sun.And I don't mean that we start to smoke and blister. And I have a problem with trying to explain this one because I have been confronted with it so many times from people who were not vampyres, claiming to be, and it turned out it was all a psychological thing. What I mean is the searing pain behind your eyes. The kind when you turn on a light in the middle of the night. This, is more severe forms, could lead to disorientation.

3.Chewing on the inside of your mouth.I really did not realize this one until I talked to others. I have found a trend in vampyres to be this when it has been a while since they fed, or during their awakening.

4.Confidence. There is usually a very confident, almost self-righteous demeanor about a vampyre. This aids in our feedin skills. We can very maniulative when we need to be, and very charming.

5.Need for Survival. Now, don't take this for gospel: There are 2 types of sanguinarians...those who crave the blood, who feel they have to have it-also known as a blooddrinker or vampyre lifestyler; and those who actually need blood to survive.

~Those who crave blood:For those of you out there who crave blood, you do not "technically" need it, but you do desire it to a point where you feel you have to have it. Willing to do anything to get it, and sometimes, even cutting yourself. There are many viewpoints in which I have dabbled into regarding this. Some feel it is a psychological disorder, seeing that the person who is feeding does not need the blood, but feels if they do not have it, they will die. There have been many documented cases of people who felt this and after being institutionalized, ended up killing themself or otner patients for this blood lust. And, to be honest, I think if there is someone who is going absolutely mad about their blood fetish, including risking harm to themself or others, is not categorized in this field and in better terms, is not a true sanguinarian. But, at the same time, it does not mean that if you crave blood you do have a psychological disorder. The craving does not categorized itself into a disorder until it interferes with everyday life: your job, friends, a lifestyle.

~Those who need blood for their existence:Yes, this is true. There are those who need blood for their survival, just as the majority of this populous on earth needs blood, same with them. There are both physical and psychological changes within someone depending on how aggressive they are about their dining*grin*. Blood is essential to the developement of an adult vampyre, or sanguinarian. It feeds their body, nurturing, like mother's milk. It helps develop intellect, agility, muscle strength, psychic powers. Now, the same changes have been documented in true vampyres that were institutionalized. But, not as many, we are very intelligent and can be very persuading and convincing when it comes to getting our ass out of trouble and making you think what we want you to.

~In my opinion, feeding is similiar to what you can imagine as a "soul fuck". I know that may sound foul to some, it is like having every inch of your skin, every pore, every sense made love to. It is euphoria. But, at the same time, it is the one time we are vulnerable.

That is all I have for now. I need to eat so I can remember. It is weird trying to write about a lifestyle that is culturally "subnormal" when it is to you quite appropriate.

~Side effects of not feeding:

1.Insomnia

2.Anxiousness, including anxiety attacks

3.A sickly, pallor colour to their skin tone. Greenish rings around the eyes, cold sweats, shakey hands, etc. anxiousness, cold sweats, etc.

4.Cutting yourself

5.Taking without asking. I think the aspect of vampyres being thought of as hunters and predators, such as the vampyre attacks that were made famous in late 19h century England and America, were brought on by vampyres living in a world that was not accepting of us. Yes, we still hide now, but very few actually still go on hunts. The world we live in today is fascinated by vampyres, our myth, our lore, our lure of something that is thought be so evil is just as enticingly alust in the eyes of many. This makes life easier for us. A world more accepting, make humans more accepting. Hell, humans look for us now, wanting to give us there blood, as if it were money. And, indeed it is a gift. It is much easier to take what is given to us, then chance persecution, chance getting a scratch on our beautiful faces while we feed on our prey.

6.Mental Breakdowns: I think this goes hand-in-hand with some of the material previously discussed on this page.

7. Aggressiveness the next time you feed. Simple: the more you starve, the more you'll ravage your victim. Try to keep feedings in balance. Death is too hard a crime to charm your way out of.

8.Total Mental Anhiliation:Remember Reinfield?...tee hee hee

Cutting Yourself

I must say, as tempting as cutting yourself may be, it does nothing, really, and it only leave nasty little marks to be questioned on your skin.

Animal Blood

You know, i am not even going to get into this that much. The only thing i can say about animal blood is that 1. if it is from your own pet.......how do you deal with the guilt? No offense intended, but i could not take blood from the ignorant; 2. diseases. There are too many diseases that are transmitted through animals than I personally care to deal with. Just think about that the next time you spend 10 minutes in the grocery store trying to pick out which steak is less green....

**Recently I have been faced with perhaps an answer to the question "How can I become a vampyre?".....

I allowed another to drink from me. He became shakey, cold sweats, cold chills, his body temperature dropped. He began to regress into his childhood of things that had happened that he had subconsciously blocked. He cried and cried about how he felt like he was dying. This lasted about 5 hours and then he fell asleep and did not remember the incident in the morning when he awoke. But, today, he is not a vampyre. I question this from 2 aspects: 1. Could this have initiated an awakening in a now vampyre who is waiting to be awakened or 2. Is it merely the intoxication of my blood? I do not think that by drinking my blood he has found a portal through which to become a vampyre, this is because today he has no craving for blood, no craving to be anything like me. Please post any thoughts or ideas pertaining to this on my message board or directly e-mail them to me. This message is posted on several pages of my site because I am eagerly awaiting responses and want to know the answer to my puzzle.****
