Matt began his life at the now demolished maternity ward of the Canberra Hospital. He spent the thre years growing up in "spence" which is a surburbe on Canberra's east side. When he was three his father shifted the whole family up to Brisbane. He attended the Camp Hill Infant school from 1989 to 1990. He then graduated to the Camp Hill Primary school which he attended from 1991 to 1995. During 1995 he was accepted into Villanove College where he would spend 1996 to 2000.
