The following images are just a showcase of some of the banners that I have created for either my own board or for that of my rival and arch-enemy (lol), Alleyrulez!

The first incarnation!

This was the first incarnation of the first banner I ever made. It was featured on my first bulletin board, Dead World. I used 2 different pics for this one. Altered the coloring and resized them, and played around for the first time with animation. Not bad for my first shot.

Make sure to look both ways!

Ok, this has got to be one of the most simplistic banners I have ever made to date. All that I did was simply take a pic of a street sign, and replaced the street name with my own. Oh, and put the 666 in the little route signs. Whoopee! Oh, well. I was going for the simple look at the time. :)

Ooooh...Ahhhh!

One of the biggest problems that I have found with making banners and/or logos is my software. It sucks. I have one program that I use, Ulead Photo Deluxe 4.2, which has some pretty cool text effects. However, ever since I've had the program, it has had a very bad tendancy of causing page faults on my system. To make up for this, much of my logos, I had to cheat and use online logo makers like Flaming Text or Cool Text.

I used one of those said services to make all the wording in this banner. Then, I put them together with some interesting animation effects using Ulead Gif Animator. Although, it is still a pretty basic banner, you can kind of tell I was getting a little bored with the old hum drum techniques that I have used thus far.

Some of those that were featured!

If you notice, in the last one on the bottom, I had made a slight change. I made the words of Alley's slogan kind of light up. Although, there really wasn't much to it, I was impressed. :)

Those that didn't make the cut!

These last 3 were scrapped for various reasons. For starters, Alleyrulez had a big thing for Alley Bagget, hence his name. Since the last banner didn't have Alley Bagget, that was why that one got thrown to the side. Not that it was a bad banner or anything, though. As for the others, I can't remember the exact reasons why they weren't used. I know I can be kind of picky on my own work, though, so it may have just been I wasn't really pleased with the looks of them at the time.

The Latest!

This is my latest banner for my my new bulletin board, Eville 2. Although it's still kind of a simple banner, I am quite proud to announce that after 24 some odd attempt at using Ulead Photo Deluxe 4.2, I was finally able to get it to make the text effects that I wanted!!! LOL!!!

Pictured in the background is an image I found on the net of Cleavland, Ohio. As for the Mi Jesu Rod, which I'm sure some of you may be wondering about. I was trying to come up with a slogan for the board. After some thought, I ventured out to see what common phrases would look cool if they were done up in Latin. So, with a play of the Latin language and utilizing an online translator, I came up with "Mi Jesu Rod", which roughly translates into "We Are Family".

What was so cool about this, is one of my all time favorite bands is Ministry. On their Psalm 69 cd, they had a song called "Jesus Built My Hotrod". After seeing this translation, that song was the first thing to pop into my mind, and I just knew that was to be the slogan. :)

The Greatest!

And last, but far from the least, is perhaps the best banner that I have created yet. The logo, itself was done on one of the online logo makers. The pic I had also found online too. I guess, from what I heard from Alleyrulez, it used to be on the official Alley Bagget site.

When I first saw the pic, I knew instantly that it would make a great looking banner and I sure wasn't disappointed. It took me quite a few attempts at erasing part of the background so I could super impose the pic over the logo, though. And then, once again, I had to fight Ulead Photo Deluxe like tooth and nail to let me do what I wanted with the animated text at the bottom.

Eventually, when time and money allows me to, I plan on investing in a real hefty photo program so that I can possibly do away with having to use the online logo makers. Until then, unfortunately, they will have to a big part in my banner making process. Just think, though - if this is what I can do with them, the possibilities may be limitless once I get my hands on some really good software! :)
