Jumping the gun
Last night, my sister called me and asked what I wanted for Christmas (and my birthday, as both events are so wretchedly, unfortunately close together). I was completely unprepared, as I feel September is a little too early to be asking such questions. She reminded me that she was a busy mother of two and that she couldn't just come home and do "whatever" like I do.

It's true. Frequently I just do whatever. And I refuse to shop until at least halfway through December. You can look forward to the "god, I hate shopping" and "why did I leave this all to the last minute?" blogs in three months.
