Rory Collins

Rory Collins is a Singer/Songwriter based out of Nashville, Tn. He's a native of New Orleans, and both cities have left a mark on his music. Collins' sound is acoustic-based pop-rock influenced by such modern songwriters as Edwin McCain, Joshua Kadison and Dido. Rory started playing guitar 16 years ago while in Lousiana, where he honed his guitar skills in a garage band called 'Mom's Warehouse'. At Middle Tennessee State University, his Alma Mater, Collins was surrounded by musicians and writers, who influenced and inspired Rory to develop a passion for songwriting. Eventually Rory became President of the Student Songwriter's Association at MTSU, where he and other members/writers worked on their skills and learned from one another. With his college days behind him, Collins formed a new band called 'The Moment Kings', which stayed together for two years. The group played regularly around Nashville in nights clubs such as 'Windows on the Cumberland', 'Springwater' and 'Guido's'. Today, Rory can be found occasionally performing at writer's nights (such as the famed 'Bluebird Cafe' in Nashville and 'Eddie's Attic' in Atlanta), but for the most part he still plays and writes for the pure enjoyment of it. As for his instruments, Rory's newest guitar is a crimson-colored 'Guild', while his collection also includes a 'Washburn', an 'Ovation' and a 'Gibson Invader' electric.
