Isaac's point of view...
Taylor comes strolling in while everyone is at the breakfast table, and I can tell that dad is more then just a little angry. Everyone notices that Taylor has a glow, but it's one the younger kids don't recognize. I do, however, know what that look is...It's a sex look, and I start to wonder if Tay and Lucy have hit a point of more then what Taylor bargained for. After breakfast dad takes Tay outside for what I imagine is to be a lecture on how imporant family life is, and how we never spend enough time together and Tay shouldn't be at girls houses over night...Same speech, over and over again. I plop down on my bunk of our bed and try to read some Sherlock Holmes. Arthur Conan Doyle was a genius, but I can't get into it, so I figure that I may as well just lay around and maybe listen to some music. I kinda need serenity though, so I figure the best and easiest place to go would be the treehouse out back. Lucy's got one, and we've got one, but, ours is more personal, and why use hers when I've got ours? I pass through the livingroom, and mom and dad are talking over coffe...probably about Tay. oh well, I continue on out back, and climb up to the house. I'm looking at my feet as I take the last few jolts upward, and when I finally look into the house I see something I can't believe. Taylor and Lucy are in a tangle of hair, legs, arms, and by the looks of things, tongues. He's on top of her and I'm not doing anything but staring at the two of them. I can't believe this. This make-out session is pretty heavy considering. I manage to get a stutter out, "What the-?!?" and they seperate faster then I ever would have thought possible. Tay has a look of fear, which soon turns to downright rage, and Lucy is actually laughing. I raise my hands in the, "I surrender...You win." pose, and Taylor sighs and collapses into a heap on the floor. Lucy strokes his hair, and I crawl in the door and sit on the bright red arm chair in the corner. "Ike..." Tay starts to say, then sighs again and ceases to continue. I put my book on the floor beside me, and I leave. I think it's probably better for me to step out of the line of fire, though I know I'll hear about this insident later on. So, ok, I can't hang out in our treehouse because my younger brother is getting some action in there, so I decide to ask my mum if I can drive down to the arcade and blow a little bit of cash. When I run this idea by her she just nods, and tells me to use my motorbike. "Fair enough." I tell her, then I'm on my way. I get on the bike and rev it up as Lucy comes out to the front. She waves and turns in the direction of her house, while Taylor scrambles out of the house, still putting his shoes on while running, and catches up to her. He puts his hand on her back, and slowly starts to move it downwards. I'm gone. I ride down to my usual hangout, but that seems boring, so, I decide to actually go into mid Tulsa and play the one in the mall there. While I change lanes, I'm thinking about Taylor and Lucy. I have to admit that I am sort of jealous of him because he's getting more action then I am at any given time. I'm sure this isn't the way it's supposed to be, I mean, Taylor is my younger brother, but nevertheless, this reality is a reality.
I notice this girl in the mall with sort of brown hair, and she's tall, and she looks a little lost, so I stop, and I stand there, trying to decide weather or not to help her out. I decide I'll try it. "Hi." I say, she looks at me with these really intense brown eyes that practically talk by themselves. I'm almost tempted to use a bad line on her, like, Heaven must be missing an angel today..., "You look a little lost...Need any help?" is what I actually do say, however. She looks at me with her eyes bulging out of her head. "Oh no" I think...she's realized that I'm a Hanson. She doesn't scream, or even say Ohmygod. She just smiles at me, and her parting lips reveal two lines of perfect teeth. "Yah..." She starts to say, "I'm visiting Tulsa, and I just found what I was looking for." I nod, "Well, as I suppose you've figured out...I'm Ike Hanson. You are...?" I ask, trying to make this conversation last. "Oh, yah, My name is Laurie." She says. She's playing with her hair as I ask her out for a Burger at the In 'n Out. She accepts my offer, but explains that she just got to Tulsa, she hopped a bus and ended up at the mall, and now she has no idea where her hotel is, so I ask her if she likes motorcycles.
"That was So excellent!" She says as I get off the bike, and help her down. I check my wallet which is in my back pocket, and I have 2 twenty's. No girl can eat that much. I follow her inside, and she tells me what she wants, then goes to get us a seat. I order, and then I go and sit down to wait for the number to be called. Laurie is biting her nails. I take her hand, and gently remove it from her mouth. "I'm a guitar player. Don't bite your nails." I say. She looks at me. "What does the guitar have to do with my nails?" She asks me. I laugh. "Good ask. I have the habit of biting my nails and I'm trying to kick it, but if someone else does it....my will power dwindles away." She smiles, and then glances at her watch, and I feel her losing interest in me...So I ask her how old she is, and she says that she's 16. Isn't this strategic? There I was, moping because I was girl-less, and up pops this beauty from a far away land. no comitment, no strings attached...perfect for the kind of torrid love affair I need to clear my head. When I look back from thinking, she's checking out a guy behind her. She turns to look at me. "Oh..." She says, noticing I noticed her, "He's really good looking." I look around her to see who "he" is, and I see Lucy. Knowing what I know, it is a safe guess that where there is Lucy, there is Taylor. Lucy looks up. I try and look away fast enough that she doesn't notice that I saw her, but it's too late. The damage is done. Tay and Lucy decide to make themselves comfy at our table. Then I'm forced to give an introduction of my new found love object. Lucy and Tay are holding hands, and being sickening together. They make me want to hurl myself from a plane. They're sharing drinks, and spoon feeding each other, I mean, ugh. Perhaps the way I'm wording this makes it seem like I'm jealous, when all it really is is they are gross. They're grooming each other, and being all...well...pathetic. Holding hands is one thing, but cooing at one another is just dumb. "I'm heading home Tay." I say, then remembering that I told Laurie I'd take her to the hotel, which is on the way home, I continue my ended sentence with, "After I take Laurie to her hotel."
I pull up to the Hotel, and I stop the bike. I walk Laurie inside. She gets the key from the clerk, and then says, "I guess this is it?" I look her up and down. I don't want this to be it, but what am I supposed to say? She nods, while I stand there and don't say anything, then she turns towards the elevator. As she walks, her hips sway in a hypnotic motion. Its not untill the elevator doors are about to close that I yell, "Meet me here at 8:00 tomorrow!!!" Just as the doors fuse together I hear a faint, "OK!" I leave the hotel feeling slightly triumphant, and I get on my bike. I take off and head home, but still I can't help but start to think about a plan for how to snag Laurie tomorrow night.
