Assignment--I am looking for pictures of the old 1968 version on the movie Romeo and Juliet to download from the internet! If anyone has any info please mail me here

Anyone know where a picture on the internet is of Leonardo DiCaprio at the Gloden Globes awards of January 19, 1997?

Can anyone guess who's B-day is on the 12th?? The B-day was Franco Z. (director of the 1968 R&J)

Danes to Star in 'Les Mis'
Claire Danes is sticking with the classics. The actress who played Juliet in a modern adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet" is signed to star in the non-musical, big-screen version of Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables". The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Danes will play Cosette. Liam Neeson is to play Jean Valjean while "Shine's" Geoffrey Rush is in line to play Javert, the detective who pursues Valjean. Shooting is to begin in Paris in April.

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Claire Danes and Alex D. Linz (One Fine Day) will receive "Star of Tomorrow" awards from the country's movie theater owners at their annual ShoWest convention next Thursday.

The awards are given annually to young talent. Past honorees include Winona Ryder, Cameron Diaz, Elijah Wood and Mara Wilson.

Danes cemented her popularity last year in Australian director Baz Luhrman's updated "William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet." Early in her career she received a Golden Globe for her starring role in the TV series My So-Called Life and gained notoriety in such films as Little Women and Home for the Holidays....."

Claire Danes has two mentions in this month's YM, once on her 3 attempts at a driver's license, and once as a bad hair day on pages 102 & 103. Her picture is on 103. On the same page is a terrible picture of Leo, and it tells about his first kiss.

Here's some info on the Romeo and Juliet front from Australia......

The soundtrack has been at #1 on the album charts for about five or six weeks.....R+J has been in relase since the 26th of December for around eight weeks and is still in the top ten, showing no signs of slowing down....to buy the soundtrack down here sets us back $30 (painful on the hip pocket, I'm sure you'll agree).....however the poster is only ten bucks, so that sorta makes up for it......Australia's film industry is going nuts over Catherine Martin's (*I think she was nominated for Art Direction or set direction and she is Australian) oscar nomination......the magazine "Cinema Papers" (basically a trade paper for industry workers) featured an article on Baz Luhrman and the whole moviesimpact on the perception of Australian film-makers etc......also had a huge, really interesting article on the visual effects within the film.......there were more than

I (Courtney) just went to E! Online, and I went to the music releases section. They have no record of the second soundtrack for R&J coming out (Romeo and Juliet Volume II). I went as far ahead as it would go ( April 28) and no sign of it.

According to the Miramax Cafe, and under the notable changes for Miramax Films, it said that "Marvin's Room" will open on December 18, and expand to other screens on February 28, 1997. So, there is the answer to every Leo fan's question about when "Marvin's Room" will come to their city. After all, Miramax is the film's distributor, I'd hope they would get the date right!Thanks to Courtney

Hey, anyone know where I can find a picture of when Romeo (Leo) kneels down & screams JULIET!!!!!!!!!!!

In the March issue of 'Teen Magazine, it reports that everyone was very surprised to see Leo DiCaprio bring Kristin Zang to the R&J premiere, because only a few short months before, he seemed very much in love with Bijou Phillips (model). Though I wasn't able to find Kristin Zang's age, I did, however, find Bijou's. Keep up hope, some of you younger Leo fans! Bijou Phillips is 16 years old! This was reported as of January 7, 1997. I'm not sure when her birthday is though. --From Courtney

You can buy the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack at Circuit City for only $10.99 starting today, Sunday.

I was watching my favorite channel, E! Entetainment Television and they had an advertisement for a couple of shows that will be on Sunday. First, at 6:00 (check your local listings for the time in your area), I think, they are having a special on Young Hollywood and then there is a special on the life of River Phoenix. There is no confirmation on whether Leo is part of these specials, but I have speculations. First, Leo is one of the most well-known and respected actors of the Young Hollywood group, why wouldn't he be a part of it? and secondly, they are interviewing young actors about River Phoenix, and since Leo has been compared to him, I figured he might be a part of it also. Well, I just wanted to let you know about this, so you could check it out.

You can get a Romeo and Juliet poster at Class Act posters on the internet. It is a small business out of Illinois. The poster is $14.00 + shipping. It is one of the most popular posters of the time.

Romeo and Juliet Volume II CD is said to be coming out on March 4th.

Romeo and Juliet the movie is said to be coming out on VHS in the US on April 9th or 14th. This is a rumor.

Leonardo DiCaprio's new movie, Titanic is coming out July 4th-just like ID4 in 1996. (the Titanic also stars Kate Winslet-from Hamlet-who plays his love interest) Jurassic Park is coming out on Memorial Day and Batman and Robin will also vie for the top movie spot during the summer.

Daily Variety confirms that Claire has accepted the role of Cossette in Bille August's film version of Les Miserables. Shooting begins on April 1 in Paris, followed by Prague.

* Claire Danes, last seen being wooed by Leonardo DiCaprio in William Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet," will move into the film version of Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables" for Sony-based 6758.T Mandalay Entertainment, sources said Wednesday. The picture starts shooting under Bille August's direction April 1 in Paris and then moves to Prague.

In the April issue of BOP Magazine, Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes are featured in a R&J article on pages 6&7. There is also a contest to win a soundtrack. ( the 1st one!) There is also an interesting article on page 19, where a girl named Aidee Gomez is interviewed about her time spent as an extra on the film Titanic! There is a Leo centerfold in the mag also!

Last night's Clueless epidsode Cher went out with the new guy in school. While on their date, Lovefool by the Cardigans was playing in the background.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes are featured in a short one page article in the March 1997 issue of 16 Magazine. There is a picture of Leo and Claire, which was taken at the LA premiere of Romeo & Juliet.The title of the article is " Leo & Claire Play the Bard Card".
