The Bates Family Home Page
We have set up this page in-order to aid our research into our family history. At the present time we know very little of descendants living in other countries. It is therefore hoped that through this home page more information can be obtained.
Our family originally came from Ovenden, Halifax, Yorkshire, although very little of that time is known. Around the late 1800's the family moved to Blackpool, Lancashire, England.
The Christian name of George was apparently often given to the eldest male (as you will see when you read on).
